About editors...

Post by Rapture** » Sat Sep 15, 2007 12:22 am

Dunno if it's the right place to start this topic,so if it's the wrong place,I ask mods to replace it (just please make it not Donator Forum, since I won't be able to check out replies lol).

I've searched trough this forum a bit,and found no such thread, and wanted to ask something... :

Who's your favorite editor(s)? And what part exactly you like about his/hers/their editing style?

I'm asking this because maybe after some replies I'll be able to find few new (to me that is) editors, and to watch and enjoy few new AMVs...

Second part :

Who do you think is a promosing editor? I mean from 'new' editors, who have joined in a period of a year to year and a half ago. To be more precise, editors who haven't been here for two years yet. I want to check something new out,and would really like to see few promosing editors.

That would be all,I'll be waiting for answers.

Hmm, my two favorite editors would be ScorpionP and Nostromo.

For ScorpionP, I love his fast-paced AMVs. I mean, I'm no genius on AMVs, but the ones he makes I find I can watch over and over without getting bored.

Nostromo's editing styles is something that I really look up to. He doesn't whore effects, and he knows where to place them. What it results in is a damn fine looking AMV that can be enjoyed without suffering from seizures.

I only arrived on this forum awhile ago, so I can't say much about a promosing editor sorry :/

I foresee this topic causing a slew of problems, but I'll bite. My 'favorite editor' changes frequently, but recently I've been really digging a lot of Megamom's videos. His style is very unique, and videos like Manabi Straight (Six) and When Things Are Damaged are simply awesome in their execution - he has a real knack for making conceptually engaging videos. And then of course there's Looking For Something, which tells a brilliant alternative storyline using Lain, and manages to be very emotional (which is weird given the anime).

So yeah, right now Megamom is at the top of my list.

As for a promising editor, I'd say Copycat_Revolver gets a special mention, because the videos he puts out are just quirky and original and fun. He's someone I'm definitely going to be looking out for in the future, if only because his videos tend to always be something I have never seen before, and yet they all have such a distinct style that it would be no problem for me to pick out one of his videos out of the crowd.

I'd be lieing if i didnt say that my favorite editor was Chaos Projects... hell thats one reason i have him in our studio! he's a great guy to hang out with and i love his style of editing... one of the few editors as crazy as me... as for promising, he has some promise but not as much as some other editors...

I'd say koopiskeva is who i think is the most promising... of the rookie editors he has some talent that cant be ignored...

I have a bunch of favorites, but the ones that don't change would be JCD and FoxJones.
