I think that I remember the AMV a lot better if the person's name is memorable. Names like Koop, Fuze, Lok, AuN and ScorpionP are the first ones that pop into my head.

lol. No prob. You don't have to shorten it if you don't want to. Chances are, when people refer to you, they'll shorten it to that anyway as a nick name. *^_^*

And on the same note of being active helping to get your name out there, just because the person is active on the forums and stuff, doesn't necessarily mean their vids are good. (this is mostly in reference to me.

At least as far as my solo stuff goes. Its only by fluke (mostly having to do with my good friend Kikai's b-day and an Iron Chef Competition) that I put out more than 1 solo vid this year.

) But yes, I'm one of the MEPs junkies of the site. *^_^* Which actually, if you can get together a short beta (to give an example of what you can do, since you don't have anything on the site yet. Usually only needs to be about 30 seconds) and get into one of the MEPs, its really good practice and a good time to try stuff out for when you do a full vid. (since MEP segments are usually only 30 seconds-2min. And with some of them, its not that hard to get into.) Just something to think about. *^_^*

Hahah yeah I had a really cool lip-sync made for AMV hell 4 but when I finished I realized that the submission date was the day before.

Anyway, I'll download a few of your solo AMVs just to take a look. Which ones do you suggest I get?

(when you're on dial up, every download is like some holy ritual)

Ok, now I know I've been asking a lot of really stupid questions instead of sucking it up and reading the entire forum, which I will do as soon as my exams are over.

One other question I have is how important is song choice? The reason I ask is because with some AMVs, even if the editing is bad, I tend to play them for the music. Other AMVs have actually managed to make me like the song, just because the AMV is so unbelievably good (Super Cute Girls as an example).

when it comes to song choice dont try to guess what the "audience" wants... just pick songs you like.

if you get caught up playing the popularity game you will crash real soon...

so focus on making stuff that YOU like before worrying about what others will like

I will keep that in mind from here on in.

For myself at least, I prefer using music that other people have not yet used, because I am an originality whore. I've already made sure that there's no AMV using the song that I'm using for mine, just because I hear so much negative stuff when people use something that's been done before (the most common example being Naruto + Linkin Park)

Also, when you said Twist of Fate took you 2 days to complete, it makes me wonder what your other AMVs are like. But uh, your profile kinda has a stockpile of AMVs. Which one do you recommend?

.. 96% of those who have "gone that route" gave-up on making AMV's because they got burned-out too quickly. Nobody wants to crash and burn!

.. pick a song that you like. if its been on the charts and held its position for more than a month then chances are more people will like it
