Can anyone tell me if Sony Vegas 6.0 will work properly for Windows Vista?
I know Vista has a lot of compatibilty issues with some software so before I buy it I would like to know that it will actually work on my computer.

I just bought Sony's version 8 Premium and one of the notes on the box was How the Updated Improvements will "Now Allow Vegas To Work On Windows Vista." ... does that sorta give you some insight to the question ?? >_<
Vista seems to be in a World of its own ( when it comes to what will work and what will not work! )
.. What I can't figure-out is "there are option settings" for "Retro-Installs and Playing" of non-Vista Software .. but .. why should only certain programs be allowed to use "THAT" Option !?!!!!? -- its not fair x_x

Re: Sony Vegas 6 and Windows Vista???
This seems to be a really common issue, and to be honest, from my experience, I haven't had any troubles whatsoever with editing on Vista. I've tried Vegas 6 and 7 (including their minor patches, a-d I believe for both) and they work like a charm, as does most of the other software included in AMVapp, as well as AVIsynth. The only problem I had, was running the AMVapp tests, which don't really work, but it's fairly irrelevant, since the install should have worked totally fine.Toshiro wrote:Can anyone tell me if Sony Vegas 6.0 will work properly for Windows Vista?

If you want to, download the trial version of Vegas off the website, and see if it works (as I said, it should) with your setup.
Vegas 6 trial download
Hope this helps,

Vista Ultimate is available in 32-bit and 64-bit. The retail versions of Ultimate actually come with both in the same box. I've read about people using Vegas 7 on Vista x64 with seemingly no problems. But of course it is not officially supported. Now there is Vegas Pro 8 coming out soon. Hopefully, Sony will have it run natively in 64-bit, since they've previewed a 64-bit Vegas earlier this year.Kristyrat wrote:I'm using Vista Ultimate, and as far as I know, it only comes in the 64 bit version.post-it wrote:Kristyrat .. are you using the 64 or 32 Vista Home Premium version?
System Properties/Information (not exactly sure where) will tell you what version of Vista and say either 32-bit or 64-bit.
