I use PICvideo's M-JPEG codec. Just adjust quality settings to full. Editing is virtually instant, so you can edit as fast as you want... but the free version leaves watermarks [logo] at the top and bottom of the video... however, I like to make widescreen videos, and watermarks are easy to crop off... plus I've got other ways of getting around watermarks too... >.>

They no doubt involve acquiring a legitimate product key via purchase of the comercial compressor.

CorePNG? Although, Lagarith is still better and faster.

M-JPEG is great for bait and switch (AKA offline editing). But even at high quality, it still sucks. Stick to lossless codecs or working directly with AVS scripts.

There are PNG video codecs. CorePNG comes to mind :|
QuickTime also has a PNG codec.

ffdshow's VFW has an MJPEG codec. Free, and no watermarks. Not that I advocate editing with MJPEG, but whatever - I use it for frame demarcation so I know where to go in the main scripted VOBs.
