My first AMV: Claymore - Lacrimosa

Post by Soruk » Fri Aug 03, 2007 1:35 pm

Created using nothing more than VirtualDub, The GIMP and pjBMPtoAVI. :?

(Oh, and I remixed the music too.)

Comments, feedback, critiques all welcome! ^_^

To be honest,

the music does not fit at all.

You should have used the Speed of the cuts (TL: 2:17-2:21) for the entire Video, with this Music.
What? I'm a normal human being like you!!

I'm surprised you say that. Fair enough, you don't see much in the way of AMVs from animes of this type using anything but heavy rock, and in a sense I wanted to do something different.

I don't agree with what you say about the speed of the cuts, that would be far too fast for the video to even begin to try to tell the story. As it is most of the cuts are one or two bars long in the music.

Some background on the music: I made the music track a couple of months ago, and while working on the mix I discovered and started watching this series. Perhaps the fact I was watching and playing this music a lot at the time gave me the idea for this AMV. I felt the darkness of Mozart's "Lacrimosa" (which is what I'd sampled in this) was perfectly suited to the story, and the club mix version, at least to me, gave the fight scenes towards the end of it that bit more of a frantic feel to it.
