Lonely Day

Post by vee.rain » Thu Aug 02, 2007 2:14 pm

Here is my new video. It's first on this site, but not first overall. I focused on story and tried to create the video which corresponds to mood of the song. Enjoy.

The Visual Quality sucked ass.

Also didnt like the use of effects, they seemed rather disturbing than fitting with the vid at all, Also your Scene seletion didnt quite got the feeling of the song for me (especially the beginning scenes, the scenes near the end did fit better), also felt like more beat synch was needed.

Have seen this on Akross Con. Yes, the quality isn't shiny and some effects are overused, but the storyline and the mood is excellent. Video got only 4th place in drama category, but I think it deserved 1st.
I like:
1) Alternative story for this anime.
2) Synchronization with camera or characters movement.
3) Moments like in train (now and then with disappeared girl)
4) Flashbacks with and without her on the beach.
5) Story was clearly developed: scene under the tree, some history of their relationship, incident, new relationship without real love, suffering and again scene under the tree which explains everything and show loneliness of main character.

I didn’t like:
1) Quality could have been much better.
2) Some effects and flashes are overused, even when they used for synchronization with music. They’re cool but looks like you try to use them for practice or smth.
3) Too long intro, some of this should be moved to the end of the video, to allow AMV keep spectator’s attention.

One of my favorite AMVs from Akross Con 2006. ^_^
For me video fits the song perfect. The quality of the video could be better, but for me it's not a big problem..not everyone can get a HD version or DVD ver. of the source (especially in Russia ^_^). Using of the effects is pretty good and some FX'es looks very interesting (for example the ones in the train, which already called Turbo )
Flashes etc wasn't overused ... for me there could be a lil more synch on the beats, but it could play not the best role in this vid. So to save the mood etc - such synch that you used, vee.rain, is more than just good.
Overall - a great work, that deserved a better place on akross con 2006.
