Well, given most Death Note AMVs so far have all felt the same, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself actually really liking this video. You kept up the pace with the song and the flow was pretty much perfect. Would've liked to have seen it in better quality (using the R2's), but otherwise, yeah. Really solid video. I agree, best Death Note AMV I've seen thus far :o

Mark's Reaction got best action at AVCon I think, so this must have gotten Judges Choice.

Check out the forums now ^_^

psst Danielle, I was the one that coined "Legendary Pokemon Purge"

Anyway, to the video itself. I think other than the solid editing, the thing I liked most out of this video was that whether by design or accident, I felt that it really did represent what the series was about.

code_chrono wrote:Simply beautiful. The Song worked so well with Death Note that I almost crapped my pants. Video quality was good, and so was sync and everything else. I think that you might have used some overused scenes from Death Note (like the car scene where the dad is with the two and the gun), but it was still really good.
I think i was pulling my hair out thinking about how well the song could go with death note. ooou *go's to read your op
aerialesque wrote:I had to download this, given I'm a big fan of the song...and I wasn't disappointed. You did a nice job synching at all the right moments, and the transitioning between scenes was very smooth. I thought your effects were nicely done, as well. I haven't seen Death Note, so I wasn't clear on the story, but I still enjoyed the video. Nice work.
yeah i was a bit concerned that anyone who hasn't seen the series would get a bit lost but im glad you could still enjoy it. thanks for watching
Naotaku wrote:Haven't heard the song before, but Death Note is a really good series, and it's action, so I gave it a shot...
All I can say is wow! The effort really shows...
Have a cookie!
thanks for giving it a shot :D
OropherZero wrote:woo you announced it. Yeah definitely the best death note AMV I've seen so far, looped it many times, this is why some of us were telling you to edit more :P

quality of the sources definitly bugged me - almost considered black and whiting the really dodgy sections :P thx for the feedback on pace and flow - i was concerned that it got a bit slow in places.

i guess you got to give alot of credit to the song. im not being paranoid but i think your trying to pass of my amv as an accidental creation from a delusional death note fanboy - gees thanks :x

Really solid video you have here, Purge. The story was lost on me since I haven't seen the series, but everything still flowed well and I found myself really enjoying this video. Though there have been a lot of new Death Note amvs out recently, this one definitely stands out about the rest. Great work, I know I'll be keeping this one. Oh and you win big for using this song.

Ergh...sorry man, I didn't like this. Death Note videos all feel the same, and this one did absolutely nothing that caught my eye or felt new. The editing style was just so typical of a Death Note action video...nothing here really kept my attention.
