This is the most tasking AMV project I've encountered yet. Nearly 100 hours in Adobe Premiere 6.0 went into the making of this. Almost every shot was tweaked, in terms of color, contrast, brightness, speed, blurring, glowing, and other various 'subtle' effects, in an attempt to further evoke the emotional impact of certain scenes. Hope you enjoy.
Also, I aplogize for the WMV format, but honestly, it was the closest quality to the nearly-1 gig DV-AVI original. I tried encoding it as DIVX, but it looked like crap, with fuzzy video quality and image artifacting throughout. (read: something flashes on-screen, and it stays there for a few seconds. Lame.) I assure you, though, this WMV is the highest possible quality output.

I can't believe you. You posted in this person's thread just to harangue them about the vidid button in an incredibly obnoxious way? Get over yourself.Naotaku wrote:there's a vidid button right here :
Anyway, on to the video.
I thought overall, it was pretty good. The flow and the mood were good, though it was a little overlong and at parts started to lose my interest. However, there were scenes that were integrated that caught my interest again, so good job with that, though I felt it could have had a bigger impact if it were a bit shorter. The flaw in the editing that I tended to notice was that some of the scenes changed kind of hard and fast in places and probably could have benefited from a little more crossfading (for example, the scenes between 0:39 and 0:42). Also, the video quality was a little fuzzy. If you were having problems with the video quality, you might want to check out the guides on this site, if you haven't already. Using h264 to encode into an mp4 is also a good way to get excellent video quality.
I enjoyed this video, good job.

Thanks. I actually did shorten the song, since the instrumental near the end goes on for about half a minute. I managed to make my own 'edit' of the song, cutting right on the beat so it wouldn't be noticed. Sorry about the quality, but everyone bugged me to make my next video in DIVX form (I used to just upload them as mpegs), and voila, DIVX actually looked worse than the mpegs. As for cross-fading, there were a lot of scenes where I wanted to make it switch word-by-word, but to each their own. Thanks for the input, though. ^^ If you haven't seen the series yet, I'd recommend it; plus, some scenes in this AMV may make more sense.aesling wrote:I thought overall, it was pretty good. I enjoyed this video, good job.
EDIT: By 'fuzzy', dunno if you meant the 'glowy' effect added to a lot of scenes, since that was deliberate. ^^;

EDIT: I liked the choruses a lot, although the rest of the vid could use some work. But what bothered me the most is the quality. It would be better if it was .mp4 or just .avi; if you need help with it, take a look at the guides here on the .org.
It also seems that the aspect ratio is not the correct one...
But it still was nice to see a Shana vid

Thanks. I'll try and render a better version of it... all I know is DIVX = no-go unless it can somehow give me better quality. The original is a DV-AVI, and nearly one gig... Way too huge to upload here. As for the aspect ratio, there were several scenes I had to remove the subtitles from by cropping them out. (I would have used Raws, but there were none available anywhere online; just various fansubs)ScorpionP wrote:Shana?:O

Well as others already mentioned the quality was quite bad...not horribly bad, but still bad and that bothered me.
Other than that I actully liked the video. The sync was quite good and I liked the song ..and Shana is always a plus!
I would really like to see you uploade a better quality version of it, since that was the only thing that keept me from fully enyoing the video.

Thank you... sadly, I'll be deleting this video, and won't be uploading any more to a-m-v.org. People here, for the most part, are elitists, and too much so for their own good. I've explored other video format options, such as DIVX, which leaves crappy after-images and such, and othef various forms of AVI, all with slightly better video quality than the WMV I've uploaded, but horrible audio quality, regardless of my attempts to set the audio output at top-notch.Ruby-Eye wrote:Well as others already mentioned the quality was quite bad...not horribly bad, but still bad and that bothered me.

If anyone wants to see the high-quality DV-AVI, perhaps I could megaupload it or something... it's a freaking gig.
But mainly, I've stopped uploading here, because-- let's face it-- there's always something that someone is unhappy with. Like we've all been spoiled by Euphoria, Tainted Donuts, Dueling Videos: Under Ice, etc etc... to the point where anything less is apparently unacceptable.
Later, a-m-v.org. I'm apparently not good enough, despite the assloads of Linkin Ball Z videos and the disgusting ammount of "flavor of the week" vids with fansubs intact.
