I'm not a a university, so thats not the problem, and I don't have any firewall issues, I even tried downloading with the firewall turned off.
Does this happen to you only on LOCAL links, or does it also happen on DIRECT and indirect ones?
Haven't tried other links... only local.
Used to happen to me a lot... University server issues - no real solution that I could find except to switch ISPs to a cable connection. =/
I have a cable connection.
Does .org system counts in that you downloaded vid? I mean - can you give stars for vid you don't have?
No.

I wasn't suggesting that you were in a university setting nor that a cable connection was a be-all, end all - it was a FUCKING EXAMPLE! Some ISPs that have instituted certain anti-p2p protocols (like my university network did with heavy packet shaping) will drop connections from certain sites (like this one) quite often. Assuming you don't have something more mundane like a firewall or router issue (something most of us take for granted that anyone having issues would check beforehand - though we probably shouldn't) that just may be your issue.

Ok, ok, no need to get all angry. I guess the problem must be with my router, cause I fileshare all the time, and no problem, so I'm guessing its just a router issue.

So does anyone know what could be causing this on my router and how I can fix that, weather its forwarding ports or something...

First, make sure your router's firmware is up to date. That can solve problems right there. Second, disable any pretensions of being a firewall that your router might have. That, too, has solved problems for me in the recent past.

K I'm all updated. My internet is getting to me better, but still no go on the downloads.

I'm not sure what you mean there. What does pretensions mean, and does that word even matter, or am I just being to literal.

He's saying the router will call it a firewall, but it's a sorry excuse for one at best.

I used to have a problem like this when my router overheated. Then I took it off the carpet and had no problems ever again. Then, my hard drive was getting full and I had to make some room because it would always fail when I had less than 1 meg of free space, that's why I now have 1.25TB on my PC.

Yes to get back to your problem, turn off file sharing, switch your network cable. If you do have a router, disconnect it and plug network cable directly into the modem, if it works fine then upgrade your firmware on the router or throw the thing out and get another one at your BestBuy store for 20$.

Also, do this from a command prompt on your PC.

del /S/Q %temp%\*

This will delete all the temporary files from your TEMP folder. Then delete ALL the temporary files and cookies from your browser Cache. If needed find and manually delete all these files.

I finally can download. I did all that you said above and that didn't really help. It still stops at 99%, BUT I get a couple hundred bytes, sometimes getting into the 1kb/s area. I get that for 4 or 5 sec then no more. All I did was set my download manager to reconnect and after about 10 or 15 reconnects I had the file. I know this can't be good for the .org's bandwidth, and so I am still looking for a fix. But at least now I don't have to bother people in IRC.
