- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Out of Kino no Tabi I have only watched the first episode.Seems a promising anime to me but I'm not fond of anime with stand alone episodes.
Anyway, the vid is quite simple, surely it doesn't need effects or flashes with that sort of song.Goo Goo Dolls is one of my favorite bands and that's a plus.
However, this type of amv is just a means to get over your boredom or to show your love for an anime you've just finished.Quick with an easy scene selection(taken into consideration the nature of the anime and the lyrics of the song) and without any beats to make you synch.2 hours and a half is enough time to accomplish that.
Don't misunderstand me,that's not a complaint.I liked the vid.3/5 from me

When I said flashy I didn't just mean effects. I meant flashy in a more general sense which includes editing pace and song selection. It was simple, it was smooth, it was slow, it was emotional. I've seen plenty of videos I'd consider "flashy" because of editing pace, not because they had an effects. I consider most action videos flashy, whether or not they have any added "flashes" in them or not.Esrhan wrote:That sounds a lot like a poor excuse. The only person so far to even mention effects was code_chrono. Most criticism posted here concerns either the overall editing pace or song selection, not the lack of flashes or effect whoring.Kionon wrote:You're hearing a lot of complaints it's boring because it isn't flashy enough.

Crackerz, figures you make a video to one of the few series I actually care about seeing spoilers for. I'll have to remember to check this out once I start/finish Kino no Tabi. You still get your thread love anyways.

Now you're stretching the word a bit too far. It's rather convienent, if you can say some vid is flashy and thus mean almost anything. I now see what you mean by that, but I think you would have been better off specifying what the critic was about, instead of generalizing that much. People like me might get confused.Kionon wrote:When I said flashy I didn't just mean effects. I meant flashy in a more general sense which includes editing pace and song selection.

I'd say this video was really average...okay, not great. Overall I would give it a C+.
(A cookie for you if you get that reference...not a real one of course, its a figurative cookie)
For one, the lines are incredibly distracting...but I didn't really let that impair my judgment because I've heard before that they're actually in the show and not an effect. Unfortunately this video has very plain editing...some story telling elements are there, but your cuts are pretty simple. I didn't really see anything too innovative in this video, and I'm not just talking effects. I didn't feel the video needed them...although maybe you could have done some color correction or something on the entire video, just something to make it look a little different, or artistic and such...if this video had any of that type of flair it would have been a complete win in my book.
I'd say 4/5 for a solid video, minus 1 for nothing too innovative.
