Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
- Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

OK Chris, here's what I think: first off, I was pleasantly
surprised because your whole "online ninja" persona screams
DBZ/Linkin Park, and yet you subvert expectations with a
romance video. That alone made me watch the entire AMV, a
rarity these days.
Technically, the video is a mess, managing to be blocky and
blurry at the same time, while the audio appeared to be
coming via a tin can telephone (and yet you somehow managed
to make it 50MB in size). There are orphaned frames
scattered throughout (e.g. 47"), cropped subtitles, and
talking galore (so much so that it almost appears you are
trying to lipsync).
Your lyrical sync is all too often literal: when the song
says "how deep can you go" in a spiritual sense please don't
show someone getting impaled with a sword. In spite of the
fact that every other editor on the org believes that
filling song lulls with fighting sequences is a good idea
(and yes, that works at cons), it's cliched, boring, and
lazy.
It's the more quiet and contemplative moments which make
this video worthwhile, because they do seem genuine. You
finish the AMV with the same tone you started (although your
last fade is much too quick), so the fact that it didn't
degenerate midway into an endless swordfight suggests to me
that you were serious about trying to make a rather
sentimental video. I like that the moods of the characters
(in the non-fighting sequences) are appropriate within the
context of the song. I like that you show close-ups of
hands, a slowly closing eye, a pan which stops just
short of the character's full face, things which suggest
emotion instead of being obvious and pedestrian.
It's not really a good AMV, but it has its moments, and
above all I think it's sincere (the fact that you are
disappointed at the lack of feedback further convinces
me of this), and that's quite laudable in itself.
All your videos are tagged "sentimental" and/or "romance",
so I guess it's a theme you like. My suggestion would be
for you to try a romance AMV using an anime which has no
violence whatsoever and see what you can do without the
crutch of fighting sequences.
