I lol'd at this:
-the banners are girly
Simply because a huge chunk of the winning banners (and the new logo) are made by a very small handful of (female) people.

I hope the org is going girly. I like those odds.

im 25, i find that there is a varying range of ages on the org forums, but i think thats cause i know the round about ages of most of the active people (ish-not really)

actually, as for the topic at hand, the same girls who are making all those meps, are the same ones who submit all the banners and post in their journals... >.>

Ah, you guys can't take credit for everything. Hinatasan hasn't edited in a while, no really recent MEPs, rare journal posts, but she's still rules the banners. The top girl op giver (Alternababe) was in the JJMEP, but she hasn't posted or edited in a while, either. And I didn't really count 'active journal posting' - you're the active girl forum poster, but Ayanefan has you beat as far as the daily journals go. All the active girls know each other, but they're not all the same people. :P

okay so maybe that was overgenerialization...

you got kiki, camilla and yeiweh... all three make banners, all three are some of the top contenders in the mep section, and all three "journal chatting" was the "reason" some people got all angsty about journal wank

ayanefan - its not like im in competition with him for journal posting anyways lolz

all three are also somewhat active on the forums...

perhaps they arent as active on the forums as me, but i have no life...

im thinking of "the active girls" as a group and not just the #1 spot... see where im coming from?

I can't remember any MEPs from two years ago that were predominantly female, let alone run by a female coordinator. Most of the MEPs that came out in the last 1.5 years were run and filled by females (fact).
"Hey, you wanna come back to my place, and... make an AMV?"

'How about, you bring your friends along, and we make a MEP?"

I don't see what all the hub-bub is about. Anything involving the internet, digital media, or anything otherwise computer related has an inherent androgynous anonymity to it. Any of the guys that are "guys" could be girls, and any of the girls that are "girls" could be guys.

I've talked to enough younger and older persons than myself on the .org to know that it doesn't matter how old you are or what gender you are-- anyone CAN do or make anything here.

Statistics only mean what you want them to mean anyway. Coincidences only exist because you look for them.

Yeiweh doesn't make banners. O.o (I think she made a couple once last year, but then stopped soon after.) But I do see where you're coming from. :P And I think I got bored once and did stats on the top 25 banner creators list vs all worthy banners, and, I think the top 25 had about 1/2 of the site's worthy banners. (That count might have just been within this past logo. I forget.) And a lot of the top 25 is made up of girls. And I think a lot of the banner voters are female if this banner of mine got worthy. :P

But I do agree, I think a lot of the outward female activity is done by a small handful.

I'm surprised that even got approved, considering that the site URL is well nigh illegible.
