- Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
- Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
- When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.

Dark Side of Wonders
My first AMV.
It is a fast paced action video without much of a story.
Since the video codec is x264 in a MKV-container and the resolution is 1024x576, you may not be able to play the high quality version; if that is the case, try the low quality DIVX-version, which is more or less garuanteed to work.
Well... enjoy!

hmm.. big resolution... looks interesting... now dling
EDIT: pretty nice job for a first video. The sync was pretty good and the quality was great! There was a difference in visual quality though - some of the sources were better than the others. Main problem with the video - the animes are with different resolutions(eg Mai Hime). For your future works scale all down to the size of the smallest, because watching the amv in a box in the middle of the screen is not cool :/
but except for the last thing - great first video. Keep improving and create some neat stuff

Edit:
Good points:
DvD footage
Bad points:
Long and boring ( aka there was totally no story )
Total loss of music sync after 1minute
And the worst part unresized footage

i think hes talking about the same thing i said...
i usually just crop one ar to fit the other...
if i want all my video widescreen i will crop the full screen footage (top and bottom)
if i want it all to be full i crop the widescreen footage (left and right)
its easier to do this before editing, that way when you edit all your source will be the same aspect ratio

Yes.
It's just that the image he linked is a scene from Elfenlied; without black bars.
Apparently the region 1 version of Elfenlied has an aspect ratio of 4:3, whereas the region 2 version has 16:9... or something like that. I was also surprised to find out that Elfenlied is actually 30 fps progressive! Quite unusual really.
But, yeah... I wanted to have maximum image quality and therefore decided to include the 4:3 parts unaltered and uncropped, but I will do it differently next time, since I can imagine that my choice of having black bars left and right is somewhat annoying on non-Widescreen-displays.
