It's just a general discussion. There's no real right or wrong.

IE: I was bored.
I just realized.. i DID post a solution...Ingow wrote:I've read every post in this thread and they're all just pointing at problems and none was able to suggest a solution. Could it be that none of you actually want to have this thing brought to an end?
Cheers.Koopiskeva wrote: Oh well.Let's just get wasted.
I just wanted to know if we're just collecting problems or if we are trying to change the stuff that sucks.BasharOfTheAges wrote:Who's angry? Can't people point out things to discuss them without actually internalizing the issues at hand? Isn't that the point of debate clubs, internet forums, etc?
We're just randomly bitching. Even if we decided we wanted to do something about this what could we do really? The only things that might work are overly draconian and not anything I'd support doing. The way things are now is fine. They enjoy making crap. We enjoy bitching about the crap. They go on to make more crap they enjoy and we go on to enjoy bitch about someones else crap. Sometimes things reverse and a bitcher becomes a crap producers but still it's all good. And everyone is all happy and shit. Except for the people who take the crap and bitching about it way too seriously but who gives a fuck about them anyway?Ingow wrote:I just wanted to know if we're just collecting problems or if we are trying to change the stuff that sucks.BasharOfTheAges wrote:Who's angry? And the angry comment wasn't meant to be taken so seriously.
I'm fine with Koops solution though :>
Why not? There's tons of reasons for using anime over live action, many of which involve time, money, having alot of ppl help you, finding an audience, not to mention there are many different talents needed to do a quality film besides editing skill. If ppl don't wanna make a huge commitment to a lil music video they felt like doing, then that's lazy and has no place here? This is like one photographer telling another photographer, your photos are too different, here's a oil brush :PKoopiskeva wrote: I was merely questioning the point of why anime was even used.
So the difference is how the creators label/explain their vids? I didn't really hear much of an explaination from any of these. Visual representaiton of sound is better than a travel between awakening and drowsiness? I usually prefer for the art to speak for itself, than have to read a lil sidenote about how or why it was done to appreciate it.Koopiskeva wrote: Oh and yes, I remember that video you're talking about now.. the difference with that video is that it was labeled as a Fun/Action video.. and the creator had told me that he made it for fun and that the effects on it were placed on there as a visual representation of sound, he wasn't trying to pull some BS about it having 'more meaning that meets the eye' crap.
Inexpensive self-expression? That would be my reason, anyway.Koopiskeva wrote: I was merely questioning the point of why anime was even used.
JaddziaDax wrote: so in other words, what one person might call "art" another will not...
in my opinion real "art" is in the eye of the viewer... if the viewer wishes to see something thats "not there" or that "is there" then that is up to the viewer...
which is why I make my amvs for me, and if other people happen to like them too, then cool... if other people get my "vision" or what i was trying to accomplish then even more cool... if not then i dont stress it... it just wasnt for them.
Or as someone else once said, "I don't know 'art', but I know what I like."JudgeHolden wrote: Or way of looking at the anime used as your paint, as opposed to it being the end all of the creation process (If that made sense).
I really hate calling them concept videos anyway .... we all have a concept behind a video, yes even a comedy.I would call them "expermental" videos. Cuz that's what they are, somebody playing around. And play is one of the greatest forms of creativity.
