Hi, everyone. I'm making an AMV using Sony Vegas at the moment, and it's Death Note-oriented. It's going ok, but I was interested in getting some opinions and feedback on it, as well as some ideas regarding some blank parts in the video.
Here you go
Thanks in advance.

Alright, not a big fan of the music or the concept, but besides those things here are the problems that I think are fixable (as changing the music and/or concept would require a serious overhaul
):
-The TV filter at 0:07-0:09 seems unnecessary and superfluous, as does the flash at 0:08. I'd take the filter off completely.
-0:12-0:22 needs beat sync. Obviously you haven't filled in all the parts yet, but the scenes you do have don't sync to the drum beats at all. Tighten that up.
-When you do the overlay zoom-outs at places like 1:10 or 1:12, you need to move them up a little on the timeline so they appear maybe .25-.5 seconds later, and sync up with the vocals. It wouldn't hurt to slow them down either, and I'd highly suggest keyframing a blur or at the very least fading them out so they don't disappear so sharply. Also, you can see the subtitles on
the overlay/zoom-out at 1:10 - fix that.
-I'd consider doing scene changes or something to the drum beats from 1:34-1:37, as the scene you have there is kinda boring.
-The scene at 1:41 looks too goofy for the music. I'd replace it altogether.
-You have a between-frame at 1:48-1:49ish...see how the scene flashes real quick before going to black? Shorten your clip at 1:48 by a frame or two to get rid of it. The same thing happens at the end of the next clip that shows up.
-I think I could say you have the same problem again from 2:17-2:20...there's a scene that flashes for a split-second and then goes to a scene of the guy writing, and that scene changes to another scene that only stays on for a split second...take out those quick scenes that show up on either end of the one with the guy writing.
-The beat sync you do at 2:57-2:58 is cool, you might want to consider doing a similar pattern of sync around that portion of the song.
So yeah...there ya go. I also hope that your music ends up sounding better than it does in this beta, because it sounds God-awful here.
Hope that helps
