Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

bombush wrote:I guess part of the problem is that you followed the video you said this one is based on. It's really slow-paced with long scenes, following of which killed your amv. The beginning was very promising but then the length of the clips stretched too much and it ceased being any fun (for example the 00:00:22 clip - after a promising start, one long clip with exaggerated effects to ruin it). The effects in the beginning worked too but they slowly degenerated into a total black/blue/pink mess.

I would suggest to avoid any unnecessary lip-flap in your next work.

I see what was your intention but those long clips just don't work in an AMV.
But you're getting better little by little.
Last suggestion: read the guides, listen to the advices, watch good AMVs, take your time and one day maybe...
Cornwiggle wrote:He would if everyone said THEY like them. Notice how he says "HOPEFULLY this one is good" he completly relies on what everyone else thinks and not himself.
After dozen of his videos being rejected and him still not understanding why, because he himself sees them as good (nobody's the same) I'm not surprised too much.

On the other hand Cornwiggle points out one of your problems (at least I think) - and that might be lack of self-criticism. Just look for every flaw your video might have, watch others' videos and figure it out.

I know this video is not that good... I didn't sync it that well, I was trying to make it look like the PV, and I was going for the mood, but I thought that the clip on the bridge was twice as long as it should have been, and overall most of the clips were too long...

You do realize that when the clip goes on the timeline, it is not set in stone, right? You can actually go back and (gasp) change things. You seem to do nothing but throw fast vids onto the timeline, export them, and upload them without even reviewing your work beforehand.

Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll ban you from the AMV Announcement forums so we don't have to deal with your bullshit anymore. It certainly worked when they removed Sammy from the Recent Journal Entries list.

Obviously you have not read a single thing anyone on this site has posted regarding your videos. Obviously you do not intend to. So, either you're an idiot or a troll. Why bother?

 I bet you 20 bucks you'll get the same feedback. You think that "time" justifies how good a video is. You, which you seem to have no concept of editing, even if you took a whole year, it still might suck. You have to really apply yourself, it just so happens that applying yourself takes time. You're not applying yourself, you're just spending a moderately increase of "time" working on it, but doing the exact same thing everywhere else. You're not improving, you're just working slower on the SAME vids.

Ok, here's what you need to do. Send me a pm or e-mail (code_chrono@yahoo.com), and I'll work with you on editing. There are a lot of issues with your videos, and most videos will takes weeks (not a weekend) to do. In fact, most good AMVs take months of work and dedication. I've worked on my current project for about a month now. So, take your time. We're not going anywhere, and we'll be here to give you feedback.

i'll throw 20 pesos into the pot

--anyway, most amv's take months to a year's time. this is a hobby but a hobby in need for alot of dedication. if you don't take this seriously then you're going to continue to get bad reviews.
from what i see, you just strolled on in here, watch some good amv's and thought "hey that's easy, i can do that no sweat" well the harsh reality is you can't.
if you don't want to do the work, then don't do it at all
Tumblr. Cheers.
