Openings and Endings?

I know what i'm talking about : /
I don't really like intros or outros. I want to watch the show, not credits and shit. I mean, you need outros for credits, but it should be like only 20 seconds. But i never got intros, they rather annoy me. They seem kind of ...useless.

Intros have credits in them too. Also to the forgetful masses they serve to remind them what show is coming on.

Not to mention that when you've got a brand new show on television that people are unaware of, the opening is meant as an eye-catch so that people will see the opening and get a quick idea of what the show is like or about and hopefully entice them into watching they know nothing about.

I'll leave alone the whole aspect of it providing new bands in Japan a chance to showcase their work.

Obviously you don't. Wheter you like anime opening/ending sequences or not has nothing to do with the question of using them as footage for an AMV.

Not to mention pretty much everyone skips the opening and ending after the first few times anyway, to get to the actual show, so I don't think it will get any older than the anime itself. I'd say its more indanger of being overused in other amvs, like the Haruhi ending dance sequence. Only a matter of time till the lucky star opening gets the same fate I imagine
