There is an Anime store two blocks from my house that is selling some interesting looking imported anime.

.Packaging is poor

.Cheap price

.DVD logo is gold

.Chinese subtitles

.Subtitles move faster than the track

.Poor tanslation

.Unknown company logo

Is there any doubt that these aren't crooked?

Those sound like the characteristics of bootlegs. I would avoid those.

i see bootlegs all the time;; we should all be masters in identifying them
