Eva Vs. RahXephon. Paranoia sets in...

I have just finished watching the first two DVD's of RahXephon. After the first couple episodes went by I started to see a large ammount of scenes that reminded me of Eva. By the end of the second disk I was seeing stong similarities multiple times an episode.

NOTE: Other than the giant robot like thing fighting giant angel like creatures (wonderfully vauge, isn't it.)

Examples: (spoilers aren't bad)

RahXephon does contain a lot of references to Eva. It should be noted that Eva was obviously a large influence on RahXephon. That asides, RahXephon is good in and of itself.

I could go on about this all day. You just wait until you finish watching the entire RahXephon series...there's a LOT more similarities to come.

At least the end of RahXephon makes some kind of sense. Sorta.

You are paranoid

It's obvious that there's a lot of comparisons to be made, and similarities to be spotted.

My solution is to stop expecting it to be like Eva and just watch it. Naturally, if you get stuck on the idea that it's just like eva, you'll think it's an Eva clone. But if you just watch it as its' own show, and make comparisons later - the similarities come out as vague at best.

I especially like SPOILER: the part where he is having a mental trip in a train while staring at his hand, way to pull multiple things out of Eva and combine them!
I found it hard to take RahXephon seriously because it obviously borrows random stuff from everywhere, not just Evangelion.
It is worth watching, but don't assume anything is original, because if you do most of the time you will be wrong.

I thought RahXephon was alot better than Eva...that anime is too over rated I just didn't see what was so great about it

well eva was good...but i always found Rah way better...OH NO IT HAS SOME STUFF THATS VERY SIMILAR! OH NO A LOT!! ok...and other anime doesnt have the same things as other anime? =/ only a few anime make their own genre...animes are just like books...there are a limited number of genres...thusly people do end up having same plots, characters that seem like other characters, settings, etc. deal. Bones > Gainax
