Well I have one good idea of what to hit, but it wouldn't fly with the other forum mebers. :?
if your suggesting my mother ... well ... no ... as tempting as it seems ... i do have some respect for her ... after all she only gave birth to me and made some sort of an attempt to raise me as a normal kid (i wish she'd admit defeat though ...). but thats totaly out of the question ... i'm walking a fine line as it is ... lately my parents have been getting bitchy over the dumbest shit ... the last thing i need is to give them a real reason to be mad at me (since the fabricated one's aren't enough).

I know what you mean. Sometimes sitting alone in your room all day in front of the computer away from them isn't enough. They NEED you around the house working because they NEED you to not do something right so they can complain about you.
So in other words, one part of the community is waging war on another part of the community because they take their community seriously enough to want to do so. Then they tell the powerless side to get over the loss cause it's just an online community. I'm glad people make so much sense." -- Tab

same here. i tried to get my mom to watch Cowboy Bebop with me. ive managed to get my sister to like Dragon Ball and Love Hina(manga only). seems i managed to get my cousin into some anime as well mainly Cowboy Bebop. the only time i got my dad to watch anime with me was when i was little when i saw Dragon Ball Z movies 7 and 8 in the theaters at a DBZ festival. it seems getting my friends to watch DB has lead to them to other anime such as Gundam.

i think that was the best way i've ever seen it summed up ... which is why i'd like to move out of my houseas soon as it's possible ... which more then likely will be when i graduate from college and find a good, stable job. which is probably going to take like 5 or 6 years ... damn

same. i got a few friends into anime but my family....well, my dad thinks it's gay, my mom could care less and my brother likes it to a certain extent. The only anime i got my dad to see is the Cowboy Bebop Movie: Knockin On Heavens Door, and I watched Spirited Away with my mom.
Mamimi: Takkun may have a big forehead, but he's a real good kid! Please don't hurt him?
Haruko: HE'S HIDING BETWEEN YOUR LEGS!!!
Mamimi:What? But he's a real good boy. He'd never even mention having seen my panties!
Haruko:THEN HE'S GAY!!!

My dad took me to see my first R movie in theaters when I was in 2nd grade...and he took my brother too, who must have been in kindergarten at the time. I don't really like watching anime in front of my parents...they tend to make stupid comments. I'm a very private person and I like to be left alone, and they have this annoying tendency to piss me off with aggravating little remarks sometimes. While I was watching Hellsing on TV in the living room I remember diving for the remote every time I heard someone coming. They don't typically worry about what I watch, but Hellsing had some iffy moments.
It sucks. Most of my anime friends have older siblings who got into it first, so their families are already used to it. I guess if my brother or sister ever goes full-blown anime crazy he'll be lucky.

I have never really tried to get the rest of my family into anime. My sisters and brothers like it but my parents do not. All they do is criticize and make fun of it. Most of the time I stop watching it when one of them comes down.

God damn I hate intolerence. Especially when it comes from my parents.:x
