This then leads to another question:

Again, since he appears to be in Black Swordsman armor, just what exactly are Pippin, Judeau, Corkus, and Caska doing there?

p.s. Given the way he's swinging (wherein he knocks aside Caska and nearly beheads Judeau) the NPC theory could go either way (esp. given it looks like Judeau was just trying to put a knife in his side)

Nothing occurs in the manga involving Gats fighting the Hawks, that's all I can say *shrugs*

Looks like they did a good job in keeping true to the manga. If I don't miss my guess I'd say this game starts off with you facing Zodd right off the bat and then continues on after that.

I haven't read Vol 28 of Beserk yet so I don't know who the wizard dressed in black is (Or even if he exists in the manga). It seems he uses some magic tho to bring the manifestations of the old Band of the Hawk to life just to torment ol Guts, maybe as illusions, demons, or just good ol inner demons. My guess would be the third since Caska just fades away in Guts arms at the end.. in her armor.

oh and Evangelion Unit 01, Caska's fist appearence is in Vol 4. She doesn't turn crazy untill Vol 13.
