Update 02/20/10 - After due consideration, the Tekkoshocon AMV Department has decided to extend the FTP account reservation deadline 1 extra week, to February 28th. Please note that this is only to set aside an FTP account for your video(s). The absolute deadline for video entry still remains March 8th.

Tekkoshocon is fast approaching, so we're now taking your FTP reservations and your mail-in videos for the AMV Contest! As with last year, there are three different contests to submit to: General Audience (the main contest), R-Rated, and NC-17.

You can find the rules and submission information on the AMV page of the Tekkoshocon VIII website.

We'll definitely have more medallion awards to give out this year (with some previews down the line), a big main events showing, and we're working to get a prime slot for the contest showing. Not to mention a few other surprises in the works...

I just sent my FTP request - and it's NOT for 'Duet'!

I'm entering the NC-17 contest this time - branching out into adult videos. My parents would be so proud!

FTP accounts are now available.

The deadline for Mail-in Submissions & FTP Reservations is February 21, 2010. We will be giving those who reserve an FTP account before the deadline one extra week to upload their file(s).

Also, since it was asked on the other forum, you may enter the AMV Contest even if you are not attending. We are setting aside the budget to mail out prizes to all winners of the contest.

And as Tekko's AMV Department Head, I encourage submissions as GloryQuester has done an excellent job with the contest since last year and I trust him completely

The AMV Contest will be shown in Main Events and we'll be sure to show all accepted entries in the AMV room once again to an audience so every submission will be shown during the convention.

As for the AMV room, we've got some real cool stuff in the works so if you're in the area your encouraged to attend

btw, please note that you don't have to have your video ready to reserve an FTP slot. If you're still working on a video idea and might have it ready by the deadline, just tell us you need FTP access and we'll set it aside for you so it will be available when your video is ready for submission to the contest.

I may make my return into the editing part of the amv world by the deadline. I have 2 videos that are halfway done but still have to find a way of finishing them without it feeling forced.

I'll probably be attending tekkoshocon this year.
