Unfortunately, the deadline for entering a new AMV passed by a while ago. There are a few that are still a bit short of completion, but were started long enough ago to meet the cutoff.
The assembled project will likely be completed somewhere in the next 3-5 weeks depending on when those last videos are completed, how long it takes to gather the narrative scripts, and the amount of free time I'll have to work on creating the narrative sections and credits.

@Rose4Emily: Thanks for the encouragement! And wow, that's the first time somebody on the org called me by my real name. As for being a future "star editor"... nahh I'm too lazy. I'll probably never be able to make it past amv#5.
I was, however, gonna make another amv just for the Instrumentality project, but I didn't get to start it before you announced the cut-off. By now I've finished most of it, and in another few weeks I suppose I'll be releasing it independently. Anyone here is welcome to see a beta. Just ask.
The title? Surrealism.
Now back to the current video. Should I wait for your ftp to come back full-time before uploading the huffyuv?
On hosting: If the org is going to host our project, then I think there should be more intermissions (like one every 10 minutes or so) to allow for better video quality/filesizes. Rose4Emily can you post a listing with the amv lengths and the expected commentary lengths included? From what I can tell, there's no way that we'll be able to fit the entire widescreen section into 100 mbs. Plus some viewers may become hopelessly lost within a video that long. It would be nice if we could add chapter stops somehow...
Speaking of chapter stops: Rose4Emily when I tried to seek within your video, the sound disappears. And it doesn't return even if I seek back to where I was. Encoding problem?
Speaking of encoding: I encoded my beta with XviD 1.0 and it looks absolutely delicious. Big salute to AbsoluteDestiny for updating the guides.
One last thing: Releasing individual segments before the release of the entire project will discourage a lot of people from downloading the latter - especially with our big filesizes. I probably seem like a big hypocrite since my vid is already released, but I can't really help it as the video was released before I joined this project. Just a thought...

Yay finally back from New York, so I can go back on some of the stuff for this project. On the plus side, I got a big chunk of my AWA entry started on the trip, so all was not lost in time ^_^
I see I also have some betas to check out. I'll post once I am able to check them out.
I say Post it anyway, we may still include it if it really fits the theme of the project, especially since your first video was done before hand and not made directly for the project.Jasper-Isis wrote: I was, however, gonna make another amv just for the Instrumentality project, but I didn't get to start it before you announced the cut-off. I agree on this statement, and I personally am not going to release Oratorio of Ghibli until about a week or 2 after the project itself releases, to encourage people to checkout the entire project first. Then I'll upload a full quality version for those who want it. I think everyone else should do it this way aswell, except maybe Otohiko, since he may not be here to release it afterwards. One last thing: Releasing individual segments before the release of the entire project will discourage a lot of people from downloading the latter - especially with our big filesizes. Awwww that sux. I started working on my EOE video which used Frank Ticheli's "Vesuvius." I wished i could've started earlier but i had a lot of school work. Anyways, it's no where near completion (about 10%) so when it's done i'll still upload it so you can all see it.rose4emily wrote:Unfortunately, the deadline for entering a new AMV passed by a while ago. School's out, I graduated, and I'm back to editing ^_^! I'll start working on my narrative or monolouge, whatever it is. I think I'll take a simpler approach to my video, instead of trying to edit everything to the beat, it is intrumental for goodness sakes. I'll try putting up a new beta soon.
In other news, I just discovered that ADV is releasing the remastered Evangelion DVD's starting July 27!!!!! Called the Platinum collection I think. I better start saving up for it. (Good thing I know this, because I almost bought the R2 discs for like $400 or more
) Hopefully ADV doesn't screw up the discs like interlacing them or something. I doubt I even know what I'm talking about
Oh, yeah. Sorry for not commenting on all the other betas, I'm still trying to figure out where and what FTP server the project is on anymore

Whoa, it's been a while since our thread had lagged this much.
I'll post a link to my beta tonight. Monologue and commentary images will (hopefully) be done by early next week.
Note to editors: I'm still missing bumper info from some of you!
All you need to tell me is your name and video name (in the exact capitalzation and spacing that you want it in) and whether your video is widescreen or fullscreen.

Jasper, finally got to see your vid, Nice one. Actually I don't have much of anything to complain about in it, except for the odd jitter like effect it had in some areas, its minor though and only on fullscreen mode. Might even be the resolution i'm playing it at.
and the ftp is once again down it seems, so I can;t get anymore betas
I guess I shoulda got the betas first.
