Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

La Cane de Feu (AWA Pro Finalist)

Or in English: "The Fireduck"

Finalist for Best Instrumental.

There's an awful lot of notes related to this one in the video profile. I haven't enjoyed editing this much in quite some time so I got pretty...excited about it.

A word of warning: the music itself clocks in at 9 minutes and 13 seconds so this is not a quick watch. I used the abridged cut from the Fantasia 2000 soundtrack (the original version of the suite is over 20 minutes long).

Also this spoils Princess Tutu pretty damn good. I don't recommend watching if you've only seen the first few episodes (or even the first season)...unless you don't care about that sort of thing.

Thanks for watching. :)

I love you.

Edit: Actually I hate you for doing this before me. >:

Edit 2: I love you more than I hate you.

Edit 3: I know this is going to come off sounding like a joke, but it was too short. :| Just when I figured it was getting to the end of act 1 I looked down and saw it was almost over.

I realy liked the idea, and was executed well, just thought it was too long (at least for my ADD -like attention span ;p) still good work.

Awesome idea. I completely agree with Bakadeshi. Its a bit long and slow, but its a nice video that was executed very well. (Watching it at 11:30 pm is not recommended though LOL)

 I like it, but it's definitely a video I need to be in the right mood to watch. But I like Stravinsky, so I'ma keep it.

When you need to insert some french sentences, do not hesitate to come and ask us for help, either on http://forum.amv-france.com, or here ;) (this should be more something like "A tous les enfants qui aiment les histoires, venez vous rassemblez autour", and this last part may require a completion: you gather around something, so samely "on se rassemble autour de quelque chose" ).

Concerning the video itself: it's a bit long to start, but I liked this association anime/music. It fits really fine, particularly when the pace quickens up.
Globally I liked it, which is rarely the case when it comes to AMVs during this long.

Thanks for the pointing in the right direction. I'll remember that if I ever need another french phrase. I swear I asked real humans for a translation instead of Babelfish but neither were native speakers.
