An Uninformed Introduction to RahXephon

Post by meleechampion » Fri Oct 05, 2007 12:51 am

This is a video I tried to do in a week, but failed. It took me a month... (but still <20 hours!)

Even though I'm able to overlook some flaws due to it's upstart nature, I'd still like feedback from ya'll.
Its only my third video and I aim to improve. =D

Hey-eyyy...that was really awesome! It's funny because I always thought this "song" would make an interesting AMV, I was just never creative enough to think outside the box like this. So thanks for making something I've been wanting to see for a while, it was mostly really awesome! My only complaints are that sometimes the literal sync feels a little cheesy, and other times the scene selection doesn't always seem chronologically consistent, even ignoring that I've seen RahXephon all the way through.

Excellent work though, this was quite charming

Cool... Just this week I heard the "new" Gorrilaz record in my car and let me inspire from it. Let´s see what you made here. I`ll edit the comment ;)

Edit:
Oha! You took this song. I didn´t thought that anybody would make something with this one. There is still some other nice songs on the record that I would like to use ^^'
All in all it´s nice. I´m not really happy with the fighting scenes around 1:10. I think that they stick out of the mood and other stuff.

4/5

Gorillaz = instant win
/gets when I'm back home

EDIT: hahaha to tell you the truth I laughted with this, since the lyrics fitted so well what you showed that it makes me  . mood was very cool, and your editing was very good as well, even if I love Gorillaz I now I will never be able to do an AMV with one of their songs XD, so kudos to you for doing it. Lip flap was a bit too much for me, but other than that I enjoyed watching this.

4/5  oh and your description (in the video profile) wins O:

Bring on the Hopper. "He's a god man!"

As for the video, a cool application of lyrics fit to visuals.

More or less the video didn't impact me as much, but nether the less I tip my fedora to you for using such a song.
It's great to see such enthusiasm for story telling in this industry. Unfortunately I can't describe this video as extraordinary but rather an addition to the story-telling AMV collective. Many of these story-telling AMV's are pioneers for this medium and 'Uninformed Introduction' is surely joining the cause.

I am reminded of the promise of great editors to come from this AMV medium and surely meleechampion is one of these great editors.
I am looking out for more of your work to come.

3/5 for the effort displayed.
Sorry that your editing time took so long though.

Interessting... it was nice but the music was not my style, there is more spoken than singing or like this.
It is really good but the music is not my taste.

Wow, I absolutely loved this. It's so hard to make something with a song like this that you can actually take seriously, but I was really taken with it, and got more creeped out as it progressed. It's simply amazing you made this with 3 episodes, and while I feel that, in relation to this song, it was a brilliant choice, I was definitely thinking of some scenes later in the series that would have been very appropriate at points. But it's just a minor complaint for a video that may end up being a big favorite of mine :)

Also, probably the best lyric sync I've seen this year, though obviously, that was the focus. You really succeeded though
