Return / Returning (Lain)

Good evening hippies,

I'll make this simple:
Russian Underground Progressive Grunge + Lain
If the above combination doesn't scare you off, then this is probably a video for you.

This is the first AMV (both on the .org and elsewhere so far as I know) to the music of Jan Coo (Джан Ку), a band from my hometown of St. Peterburg. The song was just screaming "Lain" when I discovered it, and I started working on an AMV to it a day after stumbling across the band's work. Their lyrics are in Russian - translation for this song available on the description page.

I think it's more or less a natural Lain AMV. By virtue of that it's perhaps not wildly unexpected, but probably welcome anyway.

Thanks for watching!
Comments greatly appreciated as this I'd consider my first 'real' video in about 9 months...
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

9? So the last real amv was Crimson? I always thought RPBP* was a real video....

Nice job, etc. Still could have used better quality.

1) RPBP was... RPBP. It's a different category. Like batwards.

2) If you want better quality, I can send HQ - just wanted to spare the average viewer's bandwith.

[edit] added HQ link for Orwellian enjoyment, or something

That was a good video right up to the point where it quit being an instrumental song. I haven't heard vocals that annoying since like the 90's and shit.

Well that would make sense seeing how the song was recorded in the 90's and shit :P

Eh.

Nice video, Otohiko. I liked what you did with the end. Definitely reflected the repetitive nature of the outro. Good stuff

Well it has better quality than my Lain video. And actually turned out to be very cool. One of the best Lain videos I've seen. You really captured the sheer weirdness of the anime, and I thoroughly enjoyed the editing, especially at the end. Great work.

I must agree with Godix to some extent - Instrumental part were far superior to voice parts - first 1:50 and last 1:20 is pure win, while the voice part between them is just nice. All in all good work with catching the lain weird mood ;]
