New Mai HiME AMV
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... p?v=108798
Anime: Mai HiME
Song: Ayumi Hamasaki - GAME
Uses DVD raws (no subtitles). Mostly a simple timing video, without much in the way of digital effects. It's a collage of the most emotional scenes from the series, put to one of Ayumi's best songs. Encoded in CCCP's x2264, so use VLC to play.
Massive spoilers throughout the AMV, so if you haven't watched Mai HiME yet and plan to, steer clear.
Comments welcome.

Re: New Mai HiME AMV
Lol I find this kinda funny that you used this song to Mai hime, when I used a mai hime song for the credits of Zetsumo ;pDamienReave wrote:http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... p?v=108798

agree with angelx03, has descent flow, but I think you didn;t use the song to its full potential. Although I may be biased, having used the song myself. Also, Some of the cuts seemed just slightly off, giving it a lack of a polished feel. otherwise descent job on editing and selection.
and yea ending was a bit lacking.

For people who didn't like the ending... I suppose ultimately it comes down to personal taste, but do you think I would be better off using the final Mai / Mikoto fight with faster cuts? That was something I considered, but I eneded up going with a slower, more subdued ending. I sunk a lot of time into the video, so once I've had a few weeks of not looking at it, I plan to come back to the video, and tweak it a little. Maybe make some of the cuts cleaner. I could also redo the ending while I was at it, if that's the general consensus.

that was intresting the timing was good but some of it the timing was lacking.
the song choice was ok i it felt at parts where the song did not make sense with the AMV like all the sad stuff and all their was like a rock type feel to those parts.
I am a big mai hime/otome fan and i liked the visuals you used for this AMV and what not and the ending could have been a little better seemed to rushed.

Speaking as someone who's never seen a Mai HiME AMV before and barely even knew the anime existed, I quite liked the ending. There was a definite change in the music at 3.29, so I didn't have a problem with it going into the less actiony scenes. Just my two cents there.DamienReave wrote:For people who didn't like the ending... I noticed some weird horizontal lines at times, mostly during the fight scene about two and a half minutes in, but they're only really visible at 1024x768. Liked the vid overall; it was energetic and flowed well.
