AWA Pro: Gainax Tribute AMV

Post by Ashyukun » Mon Sep 26, 2005 3:58 pm

I'll be nice and not type a lot here- given my video write-up on it is over 50k. -_-;; This was my AWA Pro entry, 'Bouncing Through The Years', which was a finalist in Upbeat/Fun, Dance, Sentimental, and Best Overall. As is (hopefully) obvious from the video itself if not from the topic title, it's a tribute to Gainax's many and diverse works over the last 20 or so years.

I loved this one. I'll try and write up an opinion sometime.

This was definitely one of my favorite Pro videos, and I was sorry to see it not win anything (ROBBED!!). I'm a big Gainax fan to begin with, but the video itself is just so damn fun. Great work man :) Definitely my favorite video of yours.

This video won some VAT Guest awards, so it wasn't a total loss.

It's too bad you weren't able to use He is My Master. I mean this scene would have been PERFECT!

Awesome GAINAX tribute! :D

And you really liked Konomini?!

I thought that number is the number of words it used to have?

Thanks everyone! I hadn't heard about winning any VAT awards for it, as I needed to get on the road to get back home well before the closing ceremonies where they are (as far as I know- they're something of a nebulous myth to me having never actually seen one- kind of like prizes from AUSA  ).

Angel- I wasn't able to work in HiMM because of the timing of it, both in when it came out and the actual phrasing of the song- had I been able to use it I would have not been able to separate out the four shows from last year like I did. That scene would have been quite neat to have though- but then there were scores of scenes I would have loved to have used from all of the shows but was unable to because of the short amount of time I had for each one.

I've only edited the description once- I noticed something in looking it over that I thought needed more explanation. I'm wondering if anyone tracks how many words are used in each video description, and if so how far I am from having the longest writeup on the 'org (if this one isn't it).
