You know, I had to actually watch this vid *looking* for subtitles to notice them. They aren't in the 'video proper', so you don't really need to mention them. The ones at the 'end cap' scene fit with a character-vid, they're explanatory, so they could have been kept intentionally.
As for the editing...hm. I didn't like the transitions - the wipes, they were blatant and made me wince. I tend to shy away from transitions like that, they just break the flow for me. I'm not sure about starting out with a grayscale, but it did make me appreciate the clear color that follows. That repeated scene was a little odd, but it fit the lyrics, and it's a good shot for Shino's expression there - he doesn't show expression that often. The general action sync was loose for the most part, but it's your first amv, and far too short for you to have really gotten much experience working with it. I don't know if you had footage of it, but you could have used some of the shots from Shino and his group in the forest, or more of his first match - it would have given you more clips to work with than just the fight with the crow.
I'd recommend playing with beat-sync - line up your scene changes to match things like drum beats. If you have wmm 2.0 those should show as spikes on your audio timeline (I think wmm 1.0 is the only editing program that doesn't show the beats).
The quality wasn't bad considering the source. The worst was a few really blocky bits with that green background when the crow is flying toward the camera. Raising the bitrate should help that (unless it was in the original footage). I wouldn't recommend wmv as a distribution codec. If you're using wmm 1 or 2, then you have options to convert your vid to mpg or xvid. If you're using something else, it probably has mpg as an option, or huffyuv (preferred).
I liked it almost purely for the Shino footage, so I'm biased. It reminds me how much I want to do something with his character. Thanks for that. ^_^
