Digital Sakura

Post by 7sigma » Thu Jul 15, 2004 8:06 pm

Greetings everyone.

This is my first try at video editing, so please stay with me, specially since I’m sure you see this kind of post every single day.

“Digital Sakura” is a dance/romance video featuring scenes from Cardcaptor Sakura The Movie 2 – The Sealed Card and awesome Daft Punk music – namely, Digital Love.

“WTF???”, you might say. Allow me to explain: Digital Love is a song about a guy who dreams about his love, wakes up and decides to do something to make the dream come true.

And so, the AMV goes around Sakura dreaming about her beloved one (no, not Yukito, mind you), losing him, along with pretty much all her friends and a great party, and fighting to recover them.

I refrained to the best of my ability my beginner’s lust for special effects, and I believe there are only a couple of them in the whole video, if much. I tried a bit of lip-synch, just for the learning, and I found the results acceptable.

The hardcore Daft Punk among you might notice I've done some editing in the song - the original was almost 5 min. long. I don't think the Daft Punk robots will care, anyway.

As you probably guessed, feedback is very much appreciated, especially the negative – I’m fully aware this AMV has flaws, and I’ll work hard to improve my skills for the next AMV – mark my words, you’ll see more from The Baka Project!

Many thanks to Ian and Ermac for writing the Read ErMaC & AbsoluteDestiny's Friendly AMV Guides, this video would not exist without it. VicBond007 and the NightOwl Pictures for the inspiration and the great AMVs I’ve seen from you guys.

See you in space, cowboys

I really enjoyed it. I'm very impressed, considering that this was your first video. The song and anime went well together, and the sync was nicely done. You did a good job; I'll be keeping this one around and I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.
