BARAKAMON - ON OUR WAY by Radical Face
There was about 2 months gap since I had made any stuff. It was not because I was working on other Projects... Just that I had no resources. I recently watched this anime 'Barakamon' which is one of the most Simple and Wonderful animes. I had so many other ideas for AMV at the time but after watching this anime I ended up making this AMV.
Both this AMV and Anime is about Self Realization. What I simply get from it is that 'Life is not about achieving goals, it's about having fun ON OUR WAY' and this is where the name of AMV comes from... So Enjoy the Video and do Suggest, Comment and Share if You Like. Thanks a lot for giving Your time.

Ok, I loved the mood in this video, and the pacing was spot-on. I just wish, like, a lot, that you had refrained from using any kind of effects or text. It seriously would have made the video twice as good and probably one of my favorites of the year thus far. Simple cuts and fades would have done wonders for this, but those effects that you put in just feel so out of place and rob the video of a lot of its momentum.
Still, props on managing to really capture the feel of the anime...not sure if I've seen another Barakamon video that does it this well.

After clicking on this once or twice and seeing it in one or two of the FB groups, I finally watched it. I'm not very good at reviews yet so I'll just say "ditto" to what CrackTheSky said. I don't know if this is what CrackTheSky was referring to, but I do think the beginning could have been done better and it kind of jarred with the rest of the video. I don't think I picked up the story from it very well.
So this is about calligraphy? One of my AMV ideas requires anime that has painting in it, if this has painting/calligraphy I might use this as source.

Good Atmosphere/mood, but the effects could have used some work or just dropped. A few of them felt out of place, and while I love the double exposure effect if you're going to use it I think you need to really incorporate into the video as a way to enhance the atmosphere even more. With it showing up only a few times in the beginning it felt kinda disconnected or that it didn't have a strong purpose. The wipes/slides would have looked better as simple cuts, or alternatively as swish pans.

The color manipulation is one of the things, yes, and I don't think the video needed that at all -- the anime is so super colorful already, and the upped contrast was definitely not necessary for an anime like this. Also, the text effects in the beginning were really tacky, as was the overlay you had going on from 1:03-1:05, and the slides/push transitions that Shin mentioned. I personally didn't like any of it, I think this would have been so much better as a straight cut/fade video with none of those things.PYSH AMVs wrote: I didn't use any effects in the Video at all, also am Yet to get used to effects... so I haven't used 'em in any of my Video I've made. I don't know 'the effects' that You are talking about but I just increased the contrast a bit to enhance the natural colors of Video.]
Still, it's a keeper for me.
Yep! It's about a guy who studied calligraphy whose work gets heavily criticized by a judge at a competition (or art show or something, can't really remember), and then punches the judge. So, he has to kind of remove himself from his city life for a while and lives in the country to reset his creativity and finds that his lifestyle clashes with that of the locals. It's a really good, relaxing, and lighthearted show, highly recommendedOchinchin AMVs wrote:So this is about calligraphy? First of all Thanks for giving Your time and am So Glad You like it

I get what You are saying... I tried to work more on the beginning but the time in which I had to show it was so limited.Well some may not directly understand the story and also the story of anime is quiet different. What I tried presenting was just the Meaning of the Song I chose and the feel of Anime. It's true as 'CrackTheSky' said, the anime is Relaxing and also one of the kinds that are rarely made... It's Refreshing

Yes, there are so many scenes You can use in Your AMV. This anime has so many beautiful scenes and also ones where he draws calligraphy on certain occasions and also after getting inspiration at some moments.
Am So Happy that so many of You have enjoyed the Atmosphere of the Video. Thanks a LotShin-AMV wrote:Good Atmosphere/mood, but the effects could have used some work or just dropped. I completely understand the Point You are making... I 'll sure consider it while working on my future Projects.
Oh... I get it now. I understand the reason why it needed 'Straight Cuts and Fades'. I appreciate Your suggestion and am so Glad You Still like the Video though it had some odd fonts and transitions.
