Forum rules
Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Wow! This is really great, super clean! I really like how the rhythm is synched to the action.

You have everything down pretty tight but it doesn't fit my personal tastes so I didn't find it too exciting. keep up the good work.

Yeah, unfortunately you're not going to get too much feedback here :(

I was very ambivalent about it, to be honest. A huge part of that, I think, comes from Animatrix fatigue -- I've seen so many Animatrix videos over the years (and made one myself) that all these scenes have just kind of lost their oomph to me. But beyond that, while your editing was quite good, the effects work really took away from the video, I think. This is just personal taste -- I prefer to see effects-less videos vs. those that have a ton of effects, generally, and I didn't think that the effects really added anything in this case. It felt to me like you were experimenting with a bunch of different things and didn't really know which way to go, so you just threw everything together -- sometimes that can work, but in this video it just didn't. There didn't seem to be a lot of focus and that's what bothered me.

Along those same lines, I also wish the video had more of a story or point to it, but again that's personal taste. I like videos that are more focused and thought out. This one was just all over the map and without any direction it just felt kinda messy.

You did do a good job of syncing everything, and overall I feel like the video had great visual rhythm. The video source was also a good choice for the music -- they fit together very well. Still, wasn't enough to get me to really like it, sorry :/

thanks for your thoughts! were there any effects in particular that stood out to be unfitting/distracting?
