The Empty Seat
So, it's been about 2 years since I edited an AMV. This is gonna be rough.
Finished this awhile back but I've been fiddling with it endlessly because I'm never quite happy with it. In the end I decided to upload it as it is because I'd rather move on to other things and start learning from this experience instead of spending more time on this one.
I tried to do some things I'd never, or rarely, done in my old videos. It was all pretty minor stuff--colour correction, masking, very, very minor scene manipulation--but I wanted to make sure I wasn't falling into the same ruts I did in the past.
I'd really like to improve, so feedback is greatly appreciated.

That was very beautiful. Your cuts and small effects are used in a flawless way and I admire that. Yup, i'm definitely keeping this video in my amv file.

This was really enjoyable. You really nailed the darker side of Mushishi, and conveyed a very thick, foreboding atmosphere. I really liked this one

I enjoyed this quite a bit more than I was expecting to. It reminds me of a lite version of Tyler's track from Reflections of Style 3 where the editing relies more on pure emotion and movement than anything else.
The rotos were interesting but it would have been nice to make them even more subtle to the point that the viewer didn't even notice them. They didn't hurt it but it would have been a really cool mindfuck for that to happen
Overall I personally really liked this. The atmosphere and overall editing was excellent. Foking downloaded.
Oh, and PS. If you want to upload a copy with better audio quality (320kbps PLEAASE ;_;) let me know and I'll approve that replacement in a heartbeat. If anything, please just send me a copy
My soul neeeeeeeeeeeds it.

Re: The Empty Seat
Thanks for the feedback! This video has gone over better than I expected it to, honestly.
And with Yue's help I was able to upload a new local file with improved audio, so if anyone was interested it's there now.

Re: The Empty Seat
Loved it. Never seen Mushishi (though seen many videos), but the song/anime combo atmosphere here worked amazingly well together here with your editing.
Doesn't help me understand Mushishi any more than what I've seen of it previously, but this really made me appreciate it more so than any other video using it thus far. Great job.
