Re: { Coping Mechanizm }
This was really cool.
Maybe I'd understand it more if I'd seen Monogatari? The clips you used worked really well and I liked the visual rhythm of the editing, which played off the music nicely. And yeah, this really isn't my favorite song so I wasn't very eager to watch this but I'm glad I did.
No one seems to care anymore than FLCL is not a widescreen show, maybe I shouldn't care either.

I think it would help if you had an understanding for some of the Monogatari characters and their weird relationships. Furi Kuri definitely isn't originally in widescreen nor HD but I had it "enhanced" for editing purposes
Thanks.

I really really liked this one. You played to the different beats and music effects the song had in it very well, and made it very enjoyable to watch. I really liked the FLCL sequence a lot, and I think the only reason I liked that half a bit more is like Seasons I knew what was going on with the characters where as I haven't seen Monogatari so I too found it slightly less enjoyable, but overall I really really liked this one. Good job, keep going.

i've shouted about the sources before >_> but honestly i realllllly appreciate the serious take on flcl. i'm on the same boat as the other people with not seeing monogatari but i really liked that part too because it was super visually interesting. and the parts with ani-kuri were refreshing and really fit the mood.
this is one of the times that i hate the song until i see a good video with it and suddenly i'm singing it in the car xD good job! you have such a cool style *A*

Re: { Coping Mechanizm }
I thoroughly enjoyed this. It was great. Good concept, clearly conveyed, really tight editing, understated effects work that enhanced and complemented the idea you were going for. I almost wish you had gone even a little more all-out on some of the more psychedelic effects, but what you did do was perfectly fine.
Couple things though:
(1) The aspect ratio for FLCL is wrong, and it is really noticeable, and distracting. Having worked with FLCL tons of times in the past, this really bothers me.
(2) I liked the editing in the FLCL segment but the anime's inclusion did feel a little weird, the animation style is just so stylistically different from the anime in the rest of the video. I also question the choice to separate the video into two distinct segments, mainly because of my gripes noted in (1). On their own, the two halves of the video are both great...together they're a little awkward. I wonder if it wouldn't have been better to mix the multiple anime together throughout the video, rather than separating them. But then there would have been much less consistency when it came to the concept...yeah, I don't know. I just think FLCL was probably not the best choice to use. I wonder why it was necessary to use more than one anime at all?
Still, I did really like this, quite a bit. The more surreal parts of the FLCL segment reminded me of this video and this video. Good stuff.

I agree with CrackTheSky with how you could have made mixed the two anime together, because I felt the two segments together didn't seem to flow from one into another quite smoothly. I was actually a little taken aback because of the anime change all of a sudden, but when I watched the end, I realized why you did what you did.
Besides that, I liked it ;D!

Re: { Coping Mechanizm }
Mixing the anime together wouldn't have helped anything, especially since the two are so different from each other in age and animation style. Just having them on the same video a little weird all by itself. One reason I separated them like that was because the music is basically the same 2 minute track run twice. I really thought about making the whole thing to FuriKuri but then it would of been too short cause I don't see how I could've used it for all 4 minutes of this.
The aspect ratio was troublesome from the get-go, it passed the circle test that I did but it might've gone off a bit when I fullscreen'd it.
This is the best feedback I've gotten so far so thanks
