Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Naruto Dumbed Down + 2 others

Post by dazza1008 » Wed Jul 28, 2010 5:07 am

Well, I wouldn't exactly say this is 'good' editing (yeah, yeah - a Naruto vid with mediocre editing, who would've thought?), but it's meant to be a bit of fun, and a tribute to the Sasuke/Itachi fight.

It's not worth a download because it's so short, so please preview if anything!

And here's two more AMVs - which I'd consider better-made compared to "Naruto Dumbed Down". They have a simple editing style - no fancy involved effects here. Made both of these because I liked the songs, and thought the anime fit. To be honest, I couldn't think of any effects which would add to the video (and personally, I don't like putting effects in just for the sake of having effects in the video) - so if something springs to mind, please say.

I'm happy to walk through flames as long as I learn something, but please mention a specific part of the video if you're inclined to critique it. It's honestly easier for me to learn that way. After all, I'm here to learn! :awesome:

Thanks for reading/watching! |:>

Hey!

I chose to watch the third one, cuz I think that shiny toy guns are neat.

I'll get the two negatives out of the way.
The glows you used to transition from scene to scene I didn't enjoy very much.
The part with the detective, the second verse I thought was really slow and didn't really follow the flow of the music very well.

On the other hand I really liked this video. It was clean fun and had some great stuff going for it. There was some really good internal synch as well as pretty good pacing for the most part. (there was some pretty neat lyric synch in there as well and you didn't slavishly follow it)

I will give a nice
and mark you aribitrary number / arbitrary number.

Thanks for the critique, Mr. Dinosaur :awesome:

It's an additive dissolve transition, and I agree that it's quite basic. They weren't what I had imagined for the vid, but I think I'd need good working knowledge of After Effects for that. It's on the list.

Personally, I thought there were a few synchy bits like when the girls give the detective the finger, and the "silly boy gonna make you cry" bit. But yeah, 50% of that section is filler. xD

Thanks for taking the time to critique, and glad you enjoyed the spirit of it. Cheers for the points for improvement. |:>
