About that going beyond the simple scenes+music concepts, it's not really what I like to see in an AMV. I love to see something made with stuff that's limited, the usage of scenes in synch to the music. Especially the synch is really important to me, if an AMV has images like yours, aluminum, but isn't in synch with the music (not saying yours isn't), it's nothing to me and I will not like it. That's what I parially disliked in your B4U video to make things a little specific.
That was just me posting my unimportant opinion

You explained your opinion well, I appreciate that. I can totally admit that B4U is a different style that people who like tight sync might not like. It was a style choice that made.
Recently for me I've been finding too much sync between the beat and the video to be distracting. I start predicting where the next edit will be and it feels like it takes more energy to watch. When editing if I follow the beat too much I sometimes feel like it starts pushing me down a path that is hard to break free from.
I think some people feel the energy of a video from beat to beat and others feel the energy across a larger time segment (I've become more of the latter.)
There are both kinds of editors so it's all good. I'm afriad you probably won't like my new project much then because it's influenced by things I picked up whlie doing B4U.
