  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

this turned out very very awesome indeed. One of the things i'm happy that you did godix was that you spent a good amount of time with people (other then your wife) that actually suffered from the illness you are trying to portray. So many people in all sorts of media and on all sorts of topics like to talk about things but the only research they do is read books, or talk to professors. It seems so obvious to go actually ask the people with the condition.

I think that this amv lacked in the areas where Lain was seeing things but, other than that it was generally disturbing and really got to me. I kind of like that after watching it all i could think about was this amv and the voices. Its like...after hearing negative things thrown around a lot it sits with your mind.... :?

I also liked how you ended it with the cutting and how the voices died down. That was not only accurate, but clever.

I can safely say i enjoyed this, sorry Godix.

Then that guitar thingies popped up and went dun dun DUN dun then those box thingies went zooming by and twirling around and shit. Oh god, then the hexagons popped up and I was like 'I just got a stiffie'. Then there was the circle with those thingies going around and I blew my load.

Yes, it does seem rather obvious doesn't it? Yet back when I started researching, I decided to do this video specifically because I had difficulty finding where anyone had bothered to do it.

What happened to the girl who walked past her as she was going to school? Was there a guy really on the street staring at her? Did her entire school staring at her? What about the chalkboard and the girl who was going to kill her? Who was she talking to at the end?

I kept most of it intentionally vague on what was 'real' and what was in her mind. Most schizophrenics don't just see things that can be dismissed offhand as not real, not all the time at least. Many of the firsthand reports mention some delusions as things that could easily have been real, such as a guy standing on a street corner watching a girl walk to school. So no, I didn't focus on visual delusions with the video, but there are several in it.

Ah good. I had problems with the cutting scene. Until a rather late beta, I was using a different scene that looked like it was suicide (because in the anime I got it from, it was). I was hoping the final would come off as cutting instead of attempted suicide.

I just felt like maybe some of the people could have been emphasized better to illustrate the point more. You emphasized well on the man looking at her as she walked by him, and the girl that looked at her as she passed by, but after that it felt maybe TOO vague...but im not sure. :| But seriously though, this was great. I just love the idea of looking into the mind of a schizophrenic.

The vagueness helps the atmosphere if you ask me, It's how i'd wanna portray the video anyway.

"It's not across; up."
That particular line sticks out to me each time I watch mainly because I've had this discussion several times with a friend of mine.

Something I found interesting about that scene is that she actually had an up scar. Little details like that really flesh out the scene.

I put the scars there to show this is a somewhat regular thing for her, it isn't an unusually bad day or something. Plus cutters generally do have a lot of scars on their arms. The up scar is because sometimes she listened to the voices...
