Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

absolutely...mindnumblingly...the best amv I have ever seen to date. Never did I expect to see such a powerful, introspection inducing amv since I got into watching them. I thought the eight minute berserk video was good, but this one shoved a conductor's tool right up Mr. Hollands a$$. You sir, can definitely call this you're opus. Also, for the people saying this was too long, that's like someone giving you a hershey bar and saying afterwards that it wasn't good because you weren't expecting chocolate. In the preview from him it says it's long, but I guess people don't read. The timing was great, as well as fitting the story in with the correct animes. I hate to actually give any criticism because this video rocked, but I as well thought the mixture of fist of the north star and Now and Then was the only part that caught my eye as not as fitting. On the flip side, I must be alone in loving the lain part. Very creepy mix of scenes. Anyways, congrats on motivating me to stick with film editing as my career; I hope you win tons of awards for this.

Finally watched, and I'm glad I did. That was a fantastic work. Editing was nearly top notch, and the whole video was really something of a great aestethicness (?) and quite homogenous. The ambiance of it was something really present, and made the video something I couldn't get my eyes out of it (erm, sorry, I can't really find words for that :s ). Although Manson isn't part of my tastes, it didn't disturb me while watching the video, and I didn't find that too long, I was really sucked into it.
My favourite parts would be the Evangelion and the NTHT/Fist of the nort star parts. As I said, editing was great, as well as the effects who really gave a "colour" to the video, and made it still more introspestive.
Uber-job with that, defitively your opus.

It wasn't entirely his choice, the video filters used are tough to compress = larger file size. He could have sacrificed some of the visual quality to decrease the file size, but then it wouldn't look as gorgeous as it does.Sammy wrote:25 minutes should = 250MB at max. But you thought this video would be epic enough for you to whore out a 500MB+ file.
Don't make assumptions that he's at fault for it just cause you're biased against anyone but yourself.

Ok, watched this 2,5 times now. (the 0,5 is because I played it on my DVD-player. Wich couldn't keep up with some of the very high-bitrate scenes. Then it finally died on the FotNs part -_-)
I like the music, so it isn't hard for me to watch the whole thing. The first time viewing I was shocked that time flew by that fast.
I can't really pick out a favorite part. Everytime I want to chose one, another one comes to mind.
I think adding the NTHT footage to the North Star footage made the part so much more violent. Because of the "normal people" appearing, everything got much more "real-life" looking and it lost the feeling of "fantasy violence".
Beowulf you did a really good work here. I especially like that you could keep the quality of editing at a high level troughout the whole video. The audio-editing was well done too.
I had goosebumps several times in my first viewing. Thats a sign for me that the AMV is very good.
