you shouldn't give up on the .ORG so soon, i mean, just look at Flint's banner, it sums it up right there, you don't have to announce it, all you have to do is say it subliminally and everyone's happy 8)

either way, it's obvious everyone is going to at least watch ur AMV, whether or not they go into it liking it, hopefully after they get done watching, they'll (we'll) all better understand what you were talking about in this thread

either way, be happy in the fact that you are at the stage in ur life that you are able to transcend what you were before, i'm still a nooB editor, i'm barely working on my first real thought out AMV, i have gotten started though, and i know it's gonna take me a long ass time, but i'm putting some effort into it damnit, and i already know people are gonna say 'You Suck!' and 'Go Home!' to me... even though i will already be at home, but i'm still gonna work hard and seriously stop this post before i break out into a christmas song

My two cents, but I believe that what people were trying to say is that when they hear things like "<i>I've gotten a little tired of the traditional AMV. I don't think anyone had any sort of issue with what you are doing in the video creatively; I think they took grievance with what you said describing it (i.e. not so much what you said as how you said it). It can be construed as snobbish, as saying "I don't consider what you create to be a fan-work".

In short, I think it's a semantic dispute.

Also, to get back on track with the Video Announcement angle: Looks like an interesting idea, and I look forward to seeing it.

No, it's not. Be careful not to sound cocky by trivializing tasks that are invovled for anyone to do.

Of course this depends are what you are trying to do. But this process of is not a scary as most would think. It really isn't IMO. However like I mentioned you have taken it to a completely different level. Again, I'm not de-value-ing your efforts. I'm was just commenting on the fact that this is not a really that crazy of an idea to me; IMO.

The difference from what? I'm not doing it for attention, and I'm not really even doing it to express an idea I have. I'm doing it because I love NieA Under 7 and Yoshitashi Abe's artwork. I want to experience more of it (via working with it) and try to present it in the prettiest, most unique way possible. You've seen this video and you know how it lingers on charcter shots and actually lets you see the art that went into Abe's characters ... I'm trying to frame that art and present in the best possible way.

I'm not suggestion you are doing this for attention. One of the coolest thing about your energy and efforts in your videos.. is it shows YOU have fun doing it..and challenging yourself with new ideas. I think that's a noble reason to make videos. I'm just saying for me I do it because I want see that vision.. because that's what I'm imagining. The comment wasn't directed at you specifically.. it was a general explaination of why I do what I do.

Gomen, I was in defensive mode since I seem to be a bit of a target right now for making remarks about traditional videos that some people found to be disparaging >_<

I knew you weren't directing anything at me.

anyway, I just want to let this thread die. It was a miserable failure at saying my videos were coming back on line and I'm trying new things because my tastes have shifted away from previous ways of doing things.

I started making videos back in 2000 because of you, Hsien, Joe, and Jason. It was revolutionary to me back then, and I hope you can get me back into it again with your new material.

And I promise to contact you in the next 2 weeks about Otakon rooming/bash update.

I'd like to think that while I'm changing my approach to creating the video, the core content will still be similar to my previous style which a lot of people have liked, so hopefully it can help kick start your enthusiasm if that's what you're looking for. What I'm doing now is actually the result of my friend Farrell who did a stunning video that he never really released. After all is said and done I think I'll post his video that motivated me so much.
