Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Unlike most people here, I love the beginning of the video. The end is well edited but the music kinda ruins it for me. It didn't stop me to watch it a dozen times before posting the review, but it's a bit painfull for my ears :p

Thanks for you comments people! I don't really have time to do individual replies (I'll do that later), so here are some quick general replies on the reactions people had.

It's too bad people thought the editing at the beginning was bland. Sure it was straight cuts, but I tried to tell a story and I hoped people would see that as an introduction. And when the loop gets clear I thought that's what would hold people's interest. I think the build-up is needed to show the progress and the change of the character, so it's necessary for the story, but if it seems boring then I guess most people didn't think the story was interesting.

Well, at least it's good to hear people find the effects interesting!

As for the second AMV, the song is called "Beautiful Night" from The Go Find. They're a Belgium indie rock/pop band - pretty unknown yet, but their stuff is really great! Their concerts too! So check them out if you can!

I find the second AMV so crappy, so it's wierd to see some people like it!

Individual replies will come later..

To clarify my vague comment from earlier; I don't think the second one is well edited, but I do think it sets a fitting, peaceful and relaxing mood. That is why I like it.

And while I am being sincere about that, the main reason I guess I bothered posting in the first place was to hopefully convince you that, while you might not like the video, I would hope you make it more accessible as someone else out there just might. That is, only if you don't see yourself returning to it later to improve the editing.

Where did you get this track Cocosuma (Tapping) The Source (Swingset Remix)? I can't find it anywhere...It's amazingly good.

Douggie: Hey, bump my thread.
blabbler: What?
Douggie: Bump my thread, while I fist myself into prolapsed ecstacy.
blabbler: Can I quote you?

Douggie: Bump my thread please.
Douggie: I’ll totally make it worth your while…

Douggie: You bastard~!
blabbler: Yes, yes I am 8-)

This post made in memoriam; Douggie, 1969 – 2008. Sadly taken from us in a failed cranial auto-insertion experiment, we shall remember you fondly.

Well, not that fondly.

Your videos were okay though.

Some of your videos, that is.

Well, the one with the comic panels had a good name.

Finally some replies - last minute of course (and I'm gonna edit it within a few hours because I don't know if I'm fast enough). Going through the reverse order:

Thanks.. glad you liked it! I think you are confusing this with another video though!

Well, good! If so, then I feel I edited something right! You were watching it in the dark right?

Yay a thumbs up! Thanks for watching!

Why do you ask? You do it anyway!

Well, just buy the album "I Refuse to Grow Up" from Cocosuma, I think you can get it at some online places like Amazon. The album is great - if you like those lo-fi indie electronix pop.

But if you were asking about remix (I know, I'm tracking off), you can find that one in the compilation album "Paris Lounge Vol.4", which is full of laidback electronic music...

The truth behind the second video is that I had this whole typographic idea and setup the whole video to have that typography laid over it, but the idea was eventually really lame after designing the typograhic elements. So I just left it at that. I have no idea how to make the video better at this point and am onlly putting vids in the catalogue which I'm somewhat content about (and IC-videos) if that is what you mean. "Beautiful Night" is something that keeps nagging for a better treatment, while I have no idea how to give that.. if you know what I mean!
