I liked the theme of this video, the whole concept is great, I can see that you exactly knew what you were doing here. And you achieved it completely. The whole setting at the beginning, then the twist where the two of them realise they are not living in just some ordinary place (at least, that's how I saw it); they were all executed nicely. You did a wonderful job on this. And also, I liked the song you picked, it's pace and mood really fit in the concept (dunno, what to say about lyrics though, but that doesn't really matter, does it?).
So, great stuff, I was able to totally get into it

Blah, shows how much I knowUnlimitedRice wrote:720x480 is in 3:2, which means since you didn't touch the AR, it's definitely still in 3:2(800x528)
640x480 would be an example of 4:3
just for future reference

The speed/video thing seems to be the most common complaint, and I definitely see that. I simply didn't have enough fast, intense footage to match those parts of the song so at times there is a bit of inconsistency. And yeah, if you're not able to get anything from the video's concept you probably won't really be able to appreciate many aspects of this video, as that's the driving force behind it. Thanks for checking it out anyway!kevmasterflashdeluxe wrote:While I like the Concept and Idea of the Video, it didn't really got anything from it. In lots of Places I felt like the speed of song and Video didnt fit together. I also felt like the Editing of the Video was too ordinary for my taste, so I got bored after a while (that kinda fits with your concept though, lol.). It was alright to watch it once, but definitally not close to a keeper for me, sorry.
It's kinda weird that you should say that, because I don't think the video requires you to understand the lyrics or what happens in FLCL...then again, I'm the creator so it's hard to be objective. Thanks for looking anyway!anurok wrote:Interesting...wish I could say more about it but me being ignorant towards that anime and not understanding Japanese made it hard to enjoy the video more haha.

I thought you'd already seen FLCL. Oh well, I'm very interested to hear what you have to say, as always.Greggus1 wrote:I'll get this after I watch FLCL this weekend. Your vids make me watch anime :/

I swear, I must be the only person who never saw FLCL as primarily a comedy or action anime. I've ALWAYS thought FLCL was drama/coming-of-age first, then action, then comedy...with a lot buried beneath all those genres. Frankly I'm surprised there aren't MORE FLCL drama videos...besides mine, Fista and My Evil Alien are the only ones I've seen. *Sigh*Fizziks wrote:Never really thought FLCL could be used for a drama vid, but you got the mood down nicely. Great work!
Glad you enjoyed it, at any rate

Thanks for watching it, Scorp. I'm glad you also took the time to write your interpretation, because that's always fun to read for me, especially with this video, which I feel could be seen from lots and lots of different angles. I'm also glad you liked itScorpionP wrote:I liked the theme of this video, the whole concept is great, I can see that you exactly knew what you were doing here. And you achieved it completely. ok so... I'm glad that finally you use an anime that I have watched
(generally I don't know how to critiq well when the anime is unknown to me lol).
I liked the vid, good flow, but the choruses were... not so fitting, I mean I would have liked to see more intensity in them, cause they are "intense" in comparision with the rest of the song. I disliked those "move the screen" (don't remember how they are called in Vegas lol) effects, except the one of the bridge, I think that worked pretty well
. I could see where you were going with the AMV.
I would have liked more beatsynch though, sometimes the AMV was a bit static. Errr and well I don't tend to compare but yeah this is different from Fista, but I still preffer Fista better.
But Overall me likes
, glad to see that FLCL is recovering from that torrent of bad FLCL AMVs

I haven't seen many FLCL/Pillows videos, although I'm guessing it's a common thing. Makes sense, although I like their musichanks Eclipse! Hearing that it's something different despite the fact that I used an FLCL/Pillows combo is indicative that I did something right, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video

I have to say I enjoyed the video. I have a weekness for the more dramatic AMVs, which tend to tell more of a story, or even go so far as to bring a message or concept through the song and the footage. I think you achieved a dramatic mood that flowed nicely with the song. The use of footage was well done, and I liked how it really showed the "coming of age" story that was always below the surface in the Anime. I always have thought about exploring the more dramatic part of FLCL, as there certainly was some depth in the story in that regard. But you pulled it off nicely. Your timings are good, you don't overdo the use of effects, and I think it all ties together. Good Job!

Am I the only person that finds amv's made with songs from the anime's soundtrack irritating? Not that it ruins the video or anything, it just bugs my brain because I already associate the music to the show before watching the amv. Good video overal catching the drama aspect of flcl.

I love to wear absurd and totally impractical garments. What's more, I derive great pleasure from spending time with women for no apparent reason.

My favorite FLCL video now
It must have been tough to edit the calmer scenes, all the FLCL videos I have watched up to this point, barely had any. Loved it, great work!
I'm curious, is it possible to do beat sync like the ones you had at 1m 9 seconds, in WMM? Or do you need an editor with 2 video tracks?
