Thanx for the reviews ppl.
I have 1 problem though. I can't seem to download files from the local server.
I'm using Opera Browser and it used to be only the files uploaded to the NAGO server but now when I download a file it brings up media player and then sais it can't read the file.
I've tried just about everything to get the thing downloaded. I've even asked the admins to help with this.
If you can give me a direct linkk that I can use to download with please let me know. I'm on a 56k and if I can't resume it's not worth downloading.
Dragonmaster - I'll review the 1 track that you have so long as it's the only on I can get now.
Soz people

Don't make me come down there... ...to finland... *gets out map, scratches head*Esrhan wrote:Nice eye-candy. Definately of the best Spirited Away AMV's out there, but I just happen to like AMV's that have something else than eye-candy in them.
This is definatly not an eye-candy vid. Sure the effects are beautiful, but it's the way that he builds the background peice by peice giving each charicter their own section of the vid that makes it great.
Gypsy, I posted your op. I hadn't quite finished the timing breakdown section, but I figured youd waited so long that I'd upload what I had. I'll finish up that last part as soon as I get some spare time.
BTW I hit the word count to see how long it was and it was a new record for me: 8,000 words.

I'm getting this at first opportunity ~_~

You won't be disapointed.
While your at it, check out his "2D Trancends video." He uses Storybord, computer models and finshed animation to show how the whole thing comes together. It's an awsome concept, and it's a pretty funney vid as well.

I agree with Esrhan. I'm not saying it's not a good video, but it is mostly eye candy. The "concept" is basically just a really fast retelling of Spirited Away (with lyrics that most of us can't understand), but focusing on the characters. That really isn't hard to do. The effects were, to be honest, mind boggling and I commend him for them. But as a whole, I didn't really like it. Don't want to start a big debate here, just stating my opinion.

Whoa man.
Yea, whatever is said, you can't argue against this being one hell of a visually and technically impressive vid.
Concept-wise? Well, for one, I must still be one of the 2 people that haven't seen Spirited Away
So, maybe I would've got it better otherwise. But, it kept me interested, and continuing patterns made it cohesive enough. It works well, anyway...
And it seemed like at least half the music was going on visually. That's probably what impressed me the most.
Still, I stick this one under 'Impressive tech videos'; as that's the side of it that's really of interest.
Well done, very well done.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I'm still strugeling with making emotional videos. I just can't get the jist of it. I've had a look at "good" emotional videos but they mostly seem like character profiles to me.flint_the_dwarf wrote:I agree with Esrhan. Maby I'm just not a romantic person...
Neway. Concept wise. The video is there to show how I made the bg. No more. No less. I originally made the bg, (took me 1 month) and then set out to have Chihero build the bg in a music video. (A bit more explenation on my video's info page).
At least I entertained most people. I know it lacks in deep emotional story. Building a bg is a kinda shallow concept but having a concept, no matter how dumb it is, guides the video and makes it "whole" and ALOT easier to make.
My next video is gonna be pure eye candy. Unless I can conjure up a story on a Infected Mushroom soudtrack set with spriggan, there's not gonna be one. (I'm planning on naming the track "Infected Eye Candy"...)
Neway. I'm half drunk now so I'm gonna shut-up before I type a 8000 word reply.
pen-pen2002 - thanx for the review. Very nice. I'll be waiting for the final thing. I'll reply with a little defence when your done.
Thanx for all the feedback people.

Well I didn't say it had to be dramatic or romantic, just that the concept didn't interest me. I guess that you modeled the video after a bg you made is semi-interesting... all I mean is that I can't name this as a favorite because all it has is effects to me. It was enjoyable, but my favorites have to have story and effects, generally. Story alone can be enough to be one of my favorites if it's really well done, but effects can't.
This is just one of those videos I'll show to friends because it is impressive, but never watch again.
However, I will love to see any future videos. That video flowed well and the effects blew me away.
