  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

it's a fit for osaka alright, and it's put together very well...

if anything, it suffers from azumanga videos in general being overdone. that, and several of your other videos are much better than this one.

still not bad by any means though. four stars out of five. :)

This really hits home. Good times.

Yeah, this is probably a difficult video to categorize properly. Still I can't blame that for it not doing too well at contests. ;)

To be honest I don't really care about "overuse" anymore, as originality is not in the sources but in the editing. If I wanted to make a Naruto video one day, I would. :\

I think you're comparing Hendrix to the wrong people in the wrong time period. I find that Hendrix deserves all the credit he gets and then some - even if you don't fall for his music, his revolutionary influence is undeniable. And Jimi was really one of those rare specimens of musician whose vision was beyond all technique.

That said, I find that he's been mis-classified as a rock guitarist. He's actually the best blues guitarist ever.

...anyway...

my favorite Azumanga video evar
Osaka is as Osaka does.

That's to say nothing of the fact we definitely need more non-comedy fun videos like this!
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

I thought you did a very good job on this vid. Very effective use of the "purple haze" effect throughout. Everything fit just so well everywhere. And, unlike other people, I friggin' love Hendrix! His music is the sh--, worth votes alone! No doubt, you would've gotten my vote at Otakon if it weren't for Doki Doki's "Another Crappy AMV."

One minor gripe was that it was more of a character profile and/or upbeat than a comedy. It had several funny moments, and it captured Osaka's character down to the tee, but it isn't really meant to evoke laughter as a comedy video. I felt some of the comedy videos were not really up to par this year compared to previous years. Probably because we tried to separate Comedy and Trailers/AMV Hell vids this year that it got confusing to some people.

But this video deserves its own category separate from the others, like "Characterization." You know, that would be a good idea for a new category, as well as "Story/Plot," or "Freestyle Art/Avant Garde." We should talk to John about some new categories for next year.

Anyway, great video.

I'd love to have a category of my own. Win by default! \o/

Didn't make me laugh, but having read a bunch of people's reactions to this video, I wasn't really expecting to. And, as such, I THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. Probably the best non-comedy AD video I've ever seen besides Daydream (even though both are technically listed as comedy :uhoh:). The only part I didn't like was when you put those boxes in the lower left hand corner

Still though, unique and fun. 5/5, you always make interesting videos.

Mission accomplished.

Hmm, maybe I should rethink the video's categorization. I started the project with the intention of making a comedy video, but apparently it transformed into something different... HTH you liked it though. :)
