I gotta see this. I gotta see this right now.

EDIT:
CrackTheSky wrote:It doesn't tell a chronological story; instead it's an exploration of concept.
And the way you did that was just plain awesome. I loved that aspect of this AMV. It was like a mental puzzle. A very cool and original concept you had there, and it was really darn well explored  I couldn't have catched it if I hadn't read the video description but that doesn't really matter. The thing that you know what this video is about is another way to bring the video closer to the viewer. I just loved that concept and your story-telling methods. In fact, those were the best things about this video. I will have to watch this more times to grasp them better, and I expect this to grow on me for quite a while.

Technically.. Well, I liked the flow. Nice use of fades. Some of them weren't exactly properly placed but tat's just really nit-picky. You actually made some visible improvement on the use of cross-fades and fades in general from your previous video. And I thought the previous one was already quite good. I've seen a better fade-flow before but this was still quite exceptionary 8-) The lack of "intensity" on the faster and heavier parts of this song is what bothered me. Not much but I still noticed that on the first view. But they're fine the way they are now, too.. And the use of effects. Not much effects here but I liked how you kept them down-to-earth and only used them when needed.

Good job!

4.5/5

This is a simple video, maybe too simple to me. I think editing is rather easy.
It rest nice to watching but not really my cup of tea ^^

Crackerzzzz

Honestly, I *really* enjoyed this video. Probably one of the best FLCL vids I've seen in a while. There were a few times where it felt scenes weren't quite intense enough for the music, but overall I thought you did a good job syncing up music/anime as far as mood and atmosphere go. Even though you did use a song from the anime, it still felt that the video was taken in an original direction. Besides, you win for using this song because of just how awesome it is. Nice work indeed.

Not the most original combination, but nevertheless very enjoyable to watch. I think I'll keep it.

I thought your concept was an interesting one, albeit something different (At least it was to me). The quality's really good, and same goes for some effects you used sparingly. My only complaint is it seemed to slow down a bit somewhere in the middle, but otherwise, excellent vid Crackers. Instant win
Thanks Eclipse! Hearing that it's something different despite the fact that I used an FLCL/Pillows combo is indicative that I did something right, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video :D

Yeah, I was really worried people would compare this to Fista in terms of doing something out of the ordinary with the source. Fista was a huge influence on getting me to actually start this video, because it almost had that feeling I was looking for, but it just wasn't quite there. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Fista, I watch it constantly and has made its way onto my top 100 list, but I felt like I needed to make a video to fit my vision, and luckily my video ended up being completely different from Teo's.

And I'm glad you liked it :P
UnlimitedRice wrote:why is the aspect ratio in 3:2 instead of 4:3 ??

but yeah, cool stuff.
Um...the AR is 4:3...I used the Resize Calculator thing to upscale the .mp4 to 800x528 from 720x480 o_O Other than that I didn't touch the AR. Glad you enjoyed the video!

Thanks for the awesome feedback, Emong! I'm very happy you could at least see the outlines of my concept, and I hope the video does grow on you ;) As for the intensity during the fast parts...see my reply to Reigna below.

Wow, thanks for the awesome reply Gina! The intensity during the choruses and near the end is definitely something I struggled with, believe me. Probably over half of FLCL's footage was unusable to me based on the concept I wanted to convey, and ALL of the fight scenes were out of bounds for me...this left me with VERY few usable scenes for the heavier parts of the song. I actually used up every action-y clip I had in this video, and all that wasn't even enough, to give you an idea of how little really good footage I had to work with. So I made do with what I DID have, and the result was some slower-paced/edited scenes. So I apologize for that, but in my defense I really had nothing else to use :P Still, thanks for watching and giving me awesome feedback!

Hehe, I know. Being the originality Nazi I am, it wasn't easy for me to do this anime/music combination, but absolutely EVERYTHING about the song was EXACTLY what I needed for my concept (except maybe the lyrics, which I don't understand), so I just kinda had to hope that the concept was original enough to carry the video. Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for checking it out!
