Please observe the following unique rules for this forum:
  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

Please welcome a new guy and throw him a bone.

My name is Ed Webb, aka SpaceGhost2K. I've been an AMV fan for a little over a year, but just recently started doing them myself. I worked for a video game company, and made a video for Halo 2 (before it was released, from leaked footage) and some people at MS/Bungie loved it.

I also did a video for Kare Kano. More on that in a second.

Right now, I have four videos finished, but only two of them are up. I can't seem to get the FTP thing to work, and have been relying on a friend of mine to upload them for me. He has been busy, so if you search for my name and find a couple of open spots - those are videos he hasn't had a chance to upload for me, yet.

The good news is, at least I DO have two of them up. They are:

This is my first, featuring footage from Please Teacher and the song "My Alien" from Simple Plan. It seemed really obvious to me, and I was surprised that a search for that combination came up empty.

This one uses footage from Love Hina, and the song "Can't Get Me Down" by the now defunct band Everybodyduck. The band's members are all Christian and everyone of the band's songs has some Christian content, although this is probably the least overt of them all. Don't get skeered off, give it a chance. I was amazed at how many lyrics in the song have perfect matches in the anime (and many others are easily paired up with "close enough" footage). Keep in mind, these people have never even heard of Love Hina.

One more note about Everybodyduck. I am in the process of making my OWN cartoon, hopefully for Nickelodeon's "Oh Yeah! Cartoon" show, produced by Frederator Inc. EBD owns all rights to their music: publishing, performance and mechanical. They are allowing me to also use this song in my cartoon... So, when I get famous, rather when "Fly Guy" the cartoon gets famous, you'll already have heard the song. :)

I used Nero 6 for both of these. I'll post another thread when I get my other two videos up (soon, I hope - my guy is at ComicCon this weekend)

Please watch them, leave me an opinion and not just some numbers. Keep in mind I'm brand new at this and only have limited software and experience. My forte is more in selecting the right song.

If you care to, here's a sneak peek of the other two videos, which are up on rapidshare.de waiting to be uploaded here at a-m-v.org

Kare Kano one: http://rapidshare.de/files/3067762/AMV_ ... M.wmv.html

Another Love Hina one: http://rapidshare.de/files/2694698/AMV_ ... V.wmv.html

To get them off rapidshare, just click the "free" at the bottom, then download from the next page. Might be a wait, but no fee or registering required.
Thanks all. Hope you enjoy them as much as I love THIS place!

Checked out your please teacher one, being a fan somewhat of the series, and having done a video to it myself. Not bad for a first video, Liked especially how you did the opening with the space scenes, right on que with the music. Perfect. Alot of good lyric matches also, However, I thought the video overall was too slow for my taste. there was alot of beats that was ignored and probably could have been synched to to make it a better video. For instance, the begining where he says "I can remember you spining your hair, loving you anywhere ... etc. etc" I wouldve probably showed some flash back scenes, maybe as overlayed footage with a feather mask to flash show scenes matching those lyrics, as if hes thinking about them as he laying there on the grass. stuff like that.

Descent first video though, and Welcome to the org.

Thanks for checking them out.

I'm still getting comfortable with the software, and have barely dipped into the effects and transitions offered.
