Back When Be Belonged
Made it 10 years ago. Was feeling melancholic and decided to upload.

Re: Back When Be Belonged
I haven't seen this anime and bring no feelings about it to this AMV. And I don't know if I've ever heard this song before and it's about as far as you can get from what I listen to without going into bro-country but you owned this song and made me a big believer in it.
I thought this was really good, one of your best videos. Glad to see you put it in the sentimental category because I can't think of any better word to describe this. No tears were shed but that's not how you judge these videos.
I love how you pace your videos very slowly and then drop in these fantastically-synced sequences of quick cuts, it's such a good effect when you know how to choose clips that leave a strong impression on the viewer.

I really appreciate the kind words.
I never could do FX, and my editing is rudimentary. I had to settle for song/anime selection and pacing.

Re: Back When Be Belonged
Hajimete was one of my favorite videos from last year, glad you're continuing to release these backlogged projects of yours (any chance of getting a local upload for What We've Left Behind?). This one didn't hit me as hard as some of your other videos, but it was still pretty good. You more or less nailed the mood of the song, and Ah! My Goddess works very well with the song in general. I wish there was a little more sync here and there, a little more motion, but I get that's never what this video was going to be about. Not bad!

Re: Back When Be Belonged
I'll upload What We've Left Behind as soon as the site allows it. I originally didn't like Back When Be Belonged, so I kept it to myself. It grew on me over the years, though.
Hajimete was pure storytelling. At the time (again, 2006) there weren't that many non-fanservice amvs about sex so it was an interesting project. In that sense it was also the spiritual predecessor of Sakura Winter (but not as dark).
Thanks for the comments!
