I think your intro thing should be an outro. Credits in the beginning just annoy me for some reason, so I feel compelled to turn the video off whenever I see it. It's just a personal preference though.
The flashes from :15-:21 weren't really needed, imo. That part of the song is so slow in general that it was a tad disrupting.
The scene selection where she sings about a dream was really well done. I liked that part a lot.
But :21 to :34 felt... I hate using this term, "oversynced." I don't think it was necessary to sync the video to nearly every beat. I think extending the length of some crossfades or even cutting some out would have created a "smoother" effect, so it didn't feel choppy every transition.
:35 onward... okay, it's definitely "smoother." It feels much calmer and the sync is more fitting to the song, imo.
Loved the flashes at :50. Good job with that.
Hm, the video seems to have slowed down in chorus more than before. Which is
good, it looks a lot better, though odd because the beginning was slow, and the video was fast, then you get to the chorus and the video is slower. It went from syncing to the beats to lyrical sync.
Didn't like that weird cross-fade at 1:08.
The clips being overlayed from 1:15 onward were odd to me. The transitions that took place on the clips that were overlaying made it look choppy.
Also, it was around 1:09 that I thought maybe it was getting a tad too slow.
The crossfade at 1:24 was another weird one. The clip that is being introduced and is crossfading through the beginning clip ends up looking like an orphan frame (but not, I just can't think of the term) because close to when the transition ends, it switches clips.
1:33... aah! return of the flashes! I think that you should try to keep a good balance between lyrical and beat sync. You had lyrical sync going, then bam! A flash to the beat.
The flashes at 1:49 felt choppy to me, but weren't that bothersome.
Up until 2:05, I have no complaints, except that I am getting tired of the so many crossfades. The glow-y transition at 2:05 though was meh. It felt too strong for a transition between such clips.
Up until 2:32, no complaints. Really liked the part with the girl falling off and stuff. Until the glow flashes and all of the weird squiggly lines. There were no such squiggly lines in the video before, so it felt odd introduced so late, know what I mean? Don't think they were too necessary either.
And up until the end, no complaints. Really liked it.
Summary: I think there should be a balance between the lyrical and beat sync. Also, crossfades, while they were definitely needed, I think there were too many. Didn't think
I'd be saying that, but it got on my nerves sometimes. And the flashes could have been cut (and the squiggs) and it still would have been good.
Also, I had no idea there was so much romance in NHK! All videos I've seen with it were comedy and upbeat and hardly any romance at all (though I've seen that short-haired chick once or twice.)
Overall, it came out pretty good. 3.5/5
