Haruhi Suzumiya: Shake It!
A fun Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya video, mostly from Kyon's point of view. I have been working on it for a few months now, and I finished it so that I could enter it into the Anime Sushi AMV contest at Megacon. I debated on using such a popular anime, but the idea would not get out of my head. I am very pleased with the result, and I hope you enjoy viewing it. If you have seen my previous videos, you can probably tell that I am slowly getting more technical, although I still have a weakness for beat-oriented editing.
"Then call it what you like:
Call it happiness! Heart! Love! God!
I have no name
For it! Feeling is everything;
(The) name is sound and smoke,
Enshrouding heaven's glow."

It looks like video compression really did a number on this amv. If you're motivated, try a different compression method like mp4 or xvid.

I really liked your scene selections. And nice to mix the dancing plus the actual episode footage you chose.
The things I thought could improve was the quality of the footage (like the others said) - it's not really crisp - also, there's some lip flap at times (like Haruhi moving her mouth with no words in the song e.g. 1min 20sec ). And some bits weren't synched tightly (e.g. 1.35 - it seemed as if she would give the thumbs-up and say "here we go now" but the footage appeared earlier so I wasn't sure)
That bit at 2.48 is hilarious with Kyon's expression. XD
The lettering at the end is an extremely plain font, as well as no emboss or SOMETHING to make it more interesting. Also, the square box effects were pretty plain too, but I'd rather tone the effects down in the vid - I don't think that effects must be there for it to be good.
But overall I think the combination of the scenes worked really well. You didn't really repeat much footage, either. ^^

Edit: pretty much in agreement with dazzle there, about the only thing I realy liked in this was the scene selection, This song goes well with Haruhi and had alot more potential than you took advantage of. In a nutshell: Sync all over the place, sometimes it seems to be there but then abrubtly falls apart, effects just there for no good reason but to try to look like effects (the type of effects I dislike most in amvs, unless they are REALLY good), and as others said, bad choice of compression format for online distro. see: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/avtech/ for better compression options and how to use em.
