  • Please limit your new threads (not replies) to one per week. If you have several new videos to announce, create one thread for all the videos. (Note: if you forget one you can edit your post!)
  • Offsite links are allowed, but you are required to have a catalog entry for that video as well. Threads announcing videos that do not contain a catalog entry will be moved to the Awaiting Catalog Entry sub-forum and will be deleted in 2 weeks if an entry is not created.
  • When posting announcements, it is recommended that you include links to the catalog entries (using the video ID) in your post.
  • Videos that do not contain anime are allowed to be announced in the Other Videos section and are not required to have catalog entries.

That was some slick editing there. I believe this is one of the few Beyond the clouds videos that I thought truly took advantage of the beautiful footage of the movie. ONly 2 things quirked me in this, the rough looking paintbrush like effect transition used a few times twards the middle end (One of them at 2:33) seemed to clash with the smooth visuals used throught the rest of the video, and the second thing being the fact that the back of my mind was thinking how many times am I gonna see these same scenes over and over again in yet another BTC video ;p

Still that was  for the most part ^^

aaah >.> it was absolutely beautiful--you maifested such a gorgeous atmostphere but then the end had little sync and it just turned me off. =/

awesome video. i don't personally care for the size or whatnot but the ending was empty.

Sorry the ending didn't work for you =\ I think I find constant beat sync a little tiring, and I wanted a "softer" ending where you could just appreciate the images/story instead of the drumbeat overpowering everything. Glad you like the atmosphere though!

And yeah, the new mp4 linked earlier in the thread is smaller than the AVI, for anyone who has space concerns.

I was going back and forth about the "paintbrush" thing there, too (though it looks more like sand to me). I chose to use it anyway because the song at that point isn't "ooo pretty romance!" anymore and I was going for a harsher feeling. Also, that "look" hasn't been used in other AMVs as far as I know, and that probably exacerbates how jarring it is.

And yeah, I need to branch out and make an AMV with some obscure series. It's hard because I'm simply more inspired by the popular/mainstream anime. At least I'm the only one who's used that song AND artist!

Thanks for the comments!

Visually, this is one of the nicest looking videos I've seen in a while. Also, your song choice fit perfectly with the your vid. Overall, this was a great AMV to watch. Keep up the excellent work! I look forward to your next video.
