my biggest obstacle right now is that the backups of my footage for my Bombs Over Baghdad video are corrupt(the DVD-Rs with eps 10 and 12 on them are dorked ><). and since i don't have the DVDs anymore(borrowed them from a friend, and she has since moved away), and the local comic shop takes anywhere from 2 - 8 weeks for an order to come in, i am forced to drive nearly 4 hours to the nearest anime store that has the DVDs on hand and purchase said DVDs, using all of my no money.
Seriously....when i make a vid, i litteraly stay up for days to make it, becuase if i go to sleep, then i forget it, and have to start all over. Writing it dow does nto help, becuase then i am not in the same mindset when i choose my clips.
So, if there are some really rediculous flashes in some of my vids...its becuase after 2-3 days of no sleep, they look pretty cool...heh.
Biggest obstacle is thinking I have a cool concept, then realizing that there is (choose one or more of the following):
a) A lack of footage for that concept.
b) Twenty other videos already with the same idea/song/anime.
c) The concept sucks. (e.g. cactus pornography...it sounds cool, IT'S NOT... )
d) A general sense of ennui falling over me.
. Obstacle ?
There are no Obstacles in making an AMV; if you can't finish what you dream
then your dream was not real!. Other than that, finding the time to
do it!
I start feeling really lazy right before editing;
the point up to editing is really fun(ripping, scripting, etc.),
and then I usually cant start editing solidly after that.
My biggest obstacle ? Knowing when to use effects and which to use. That kind of thing comes more instinctively to some, but as for me, I lack that inherent ability at this point in time and tend to shy away from it all. I've been making a conerted effort to brush up on my skills (including attempting to fumble my way around After Effects), but it's still definitely my weak point.
